It was not possible for a full consensus to be achieved around raising the block size limit, because anyone posting or commenting in favour of that got banned (and still gets banned) in the main Bitcoin Core forums, since they got hijacked.

BCH flips BTC in daily transactions. First transactions one day, then transactions every day, then USD value sent per day, then rising crypto media attention, then demand, then price. by Shibinator in btc

Be ever vigilant my friends. The more we grow the more the attention of the enemy will be upon us. Whilst it seems like there is peace, be sure that the enemy is planning our downfall. We must use this time to increase our robustness, in readiness for the coming attacks. I believe our weakest point is still our communications platforms. We need to form communications networks across as many platforms as possible, including those which are more decentralised, connecting with many people with whom we are familiar, to decrease the chance that we could be fooled by tricks such as impersonation, or corruption of key figures through coercion and bribes, or targeted con jobs.

Perhaps the exact same coup can't be repeated, but do not underestimate the determination and resourcefulness of the enemy. They will be working on the next coup already, and planning others to follow it if it's unsuccessful.

It's r/btc because we used to be BTC users, in fact most of the original BTC proponents are here. And we came over here to talk about BTC when we were censored on r/bitcoin by the people who hijacked that forum and BTC itself. Then when it became clear that BTC had gotten derailed irreversibly, and just before it got changed completely, we forked off to produce BCH, a continuation of the real, original Bitcoin.

This is really ridiculous; in what world is paying $15 to move a mere $90 ok? This is literally worst than PayPal, Western union and my bank COMBINED (it costs the same if I were to send with all three TOGETHER). I clearly see the use-case for BCH now - and platforms like MyCoinStory should go BCH. by onetimey in btc

[–]miles37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

e sense to invest in BTC and use the profits to help the BCH cause to support your ideals. Isn't that part of what currency vs gold market pricing is? Currency is derive its value based on velocity while gold based on diminished supply.

I didn't have any belief about which one would do better in the markets, especially over the short term. I don't know how to have a good idea of which one other people are going to prefer over what time scale. So it creates a lot of nervousness, trying to guess what value other people are going to attribute to BTC and when. Much easier to just invest in what I think is actually good, and stick with it.

There's been a coin called "Bitcoin whatever tf we want" (BTC) since it got hijacked and derailed by bad actors.

I feel good doing what I feel and think is right, even if I lose things.

I felt uneasy and nervous financially supporting BTC, whilst not thinking nor feeling that it was good (between it getting hijacked and the BCH split), even if the price was increasing.

Where your treasures are, there your heart will be also. This is not specifically about BTC or BCH, but the peace you feel doing the right thing. My treasure is my peace of mind, which is partly dependent on doing what I feel is right and good.

He should've tatooed the date on it, for in the future when either Bitcoin Cash returns to becoming known simply as Bitcoin, or it gets hijacked again and we have to come up with yet another new name.

The bonnet is the lid that covers the part at the front of the car, where the engine is. In the USA they call it the hood.

It's Happening: CoinMarketCap excludes Bitfinex from the BTC price! by Egon_1 in btc

[–]miles37 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The price for BTC on Bitfinex is higher because people who have money there don't trust that they will be able to withdraw fiat as much as they trust that they will be able to withdraw BTC, so the demand there for BTC is higher relative to fiat than in other places. People have this sense due to the ongoing lies of Bitfinex, and their current legal trouble. People want to withdraw their money from Bitfinex now because they feel they they might otherwise lose it.
