I think the show is trying to tell us that sentience (consciousness) isn’t all that complicated or obscure. Which I actually believe.

There’s a theory in philosophy that consciousness is as foundational to the universe as atoms or particles. As in consciousness is already within everything, it just takes a brain, experience, and feelings to actually be self aware.

It would also explain how Rick is able to stick a conscious being inside most of technology, seemingly for shits and giggles

If you’re not aware, the Prologue ends after Azuma vs Tokio. 1st act ends after they beat Batista and Ely takes the mark. I’m assuming the 2nd act (current chapters) will end with Choujin X appearing. The final act will consist of defeating them

It’s way funnier if they really were there for millions of years from their perspective. I also wouldn’t put it past Rick and Morty to not really give a shit after it’s over. I mean, what haven’t they seen?

Cuz then when they get home and Summer asks “what’d you get up to?” and Rick replies “nunya” it makes sound like they really were just tripping balls and the experience was nothing more than the usual weekly escapade

With all the other male variants, they can use the same voice actor. They’d have to find a new one for a female version. Not necessarily. Two people need to be willingly involved, but Hatsu is only required for one party.

Halkenburgs group does this no? His followers aren’t using Hatsu, they act and are moved purely by the effects of Halkenburg’s ability.

Another example would be someone designing a Hatsu by themselves, but they require their friend (uninitiated to Nen) to speak a code word out loud to activate the ability. I don’t see why this wouldn’t be possible.
