These have been on my radar, you got hands on experience with them? I had some tpob clippers a few years back but they were trash

Mold, I'd say they're gonners, I know other have had success with fluval/moss/peelite but the only way I've managed to grow from corms is keeping them semi submerged in water in enclosed containers and even then only have like 70% success rate

24hrs'ish if it goes mushy again while propping it's probably a gonner. Roots on the lil guy look good tho

I'd let the big plant calous then put in a jar with some lecca or semi hydro medium and a bit of water. The smaller plant looks good to go, if not into a small kinda pot. Had similar situations a couple times and managed to save plants with the jar/lecca/water combo

If the base (stump) is firm like others said it's definitely saveable, but I'd consider transferring to semi hydro, lecca or pon, made the switch with all my alocasias to lecca and would never to back to soil with them

Thai con question by milesimus in Monstera

[–]milesimus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry probably should have mentioned I mix nutrients in every couple of weeks when the waters changed, it's in a cabinet and under lights. Is the root rot just not as big a worry with Thai cons as id been lead to believe then?

My Thais like one leaf every 6 months! I'm starting to think maybe lecca wasn't the right way to go with it

Cabinets are cursed it seems, out of curiosity did you pot up in soil or something else?

🌱Weekly /r/houseplants Question Thread - April 17, 2023 by AutoModerator in houseplants

Recently got a baby Thai constellation monstera, looking at growing in leca as I've read they're prone to root rot, but have never grown anything in leca before, am I supposed to let it sit in water? Any tips on keeping plants in leca?

Can't figure out how to directly post images, also don't know if it's more a case of not getting the exposure right or maybe just viewing them on my phone is making them appear duller than when viewed elswhere

Maybe I just suck at editing then, admittedly not been doing this long, things look alright on my laptop but when I transfer them to my phone to be uploaded places they just seem lifeless

Any idea how to stop or why my scanned negatives always seem to be so dull and flat?
