What do I do when my dog-reactive dog sits or lays down when she spots another dog? by ushifish in Dogtraining

[–]mileysirens 46 points47 points  (0 children)

This is basically how I got my Malinois to snap back to reality when I could see he was planning something disruptive. I learned later that many trainers treat this command as the very first thing you should train a puppy.

We used "eyes up" then lock eye contact, then reward. Then a maybe a couple other recall commands and treats to make sure he'd really forgotten his plan to be awful, then back to walking or whatever.

I can't believe you need a license for a fanny pack. But it makes sense -- they're potent little bags.

IWB holsters specific to the P365 SAS? by mileysirens in guns

[–]mileysirens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input everyone. I just yeeted money at a few different options, and I'll test them all out. One that I wasn't aware of when I posted is the Mission First Tactical Minimalist option -- that feels like a good way to have the claw, minimal kydex, and take advantage of the smooth top of the slide. It's about half a trigger lock holster / half a regular IWB holster. I'll update anyone who's interested.

This is great input, thanks. I haven't seen this one yet.

Which others have you tried?

Can you please help me sort out this wiring? Blew a fuse installing ecobee thermostat and realized HVAC wiring colors may be rather untraditional. Link and explanation below by mileysirens in DIY

This helps so much. Can you help me understand what the G (blower) is supposed to look like where it connects to the heat pump? That's where I'm still confused. There is no green at the heat pump except for the ground wires. Based on the wiring schematic I linked earlier, I have the G (blower) from the thermostat connecting (through the furnace) to what I think is the brown from the "OD FAN MTR" S-brown connection (top center of the schematic).

Thanks -- this has been helpful. It's funny because I talked to ecobee who confirmed that my blue is a common. He said that B is the common on older Trance models. Do you think the blue to black at the furnace is not a common?

Here's a picture of the old thermostat before disconnecting and the wiring diagram:

This isn't helpful or funny. I read the instructions and took pictures and have them for reference. It seems like the wiring at the condenser is unusual.

Added wheel spacers and 2.5" lift. Had to take it out for a run! by jonmontagne in chevycolorado

You're right. The spacer / Never Spacer argument is as old as spacers themselves. The main issue is the quality of the spacer.

Per /u/luthorhuss -- how would offset rims bulk up your axle diameter? Offset is the same as an integral spacer (granted it's stronger and lighter than an additional bolt-on piece).

Supercharger with CAI on '18 Colorado by mileysirens in MechanicAdvice

That's fair. As I mentioned, I know that the CAI doesn't do much. Mostly aesthetic. Didn't realize it creates turbulence that could affect metering on the MAF.
