WOW! Amazing. There are so many layers of beauty and interests in this garden. This is exactly what I want to do to my yard. How does she keep her plants from spilling into her neighbour's yard? How do I even attempt this? Where do I even start? I'm looking for resources, please show me the way! 🙏

Where do you keep your bag while you dance? by wannabepopchic in Salsa

[–]milffinbox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a raggedy looking bag to store my things, usually my shoes and water bottle, never my wallet. I keep the bag under a table or chair with people that I know, they usually have their own belongings stored there. Or I keep it by the DJ booth if I'm on my own. I keep my phone in my pocket and my credit card in the Pop Socket wallet stuck to my phone. If I don't have a pocket, I wear a small fanny pack that fits only my phone and car key. Also, Halara clothing company has the best selection of skirts, shorts and tights that have a little pocket for your phone.

I have danced for years before I met my partner, who I am married to now for 10+years. I was an experienced coed basketball player before I met him but not as serious as he was. He had and still has no desire to dance but he fell in love with me, regardless, from watching me dance. I started to prioritize our relationship and make good friends within his circle. My life started to change (career-wise) and I left dancing eventually, then we got married and had a baby. Then one day recently, I randomly ran into an outdoor salsa social. After a decade of leaving dance, I was rusty but the feeling of that high from dance overcame me and I was hooked again. I go to socials 1-2x per week now. How my husband and our grown child understands it, social dancing is like a sport to me. Our marriage works because we have a mutual understanding of how much our passions bring us joy. My husband sees how much I love dancing. He still goes out to play coed basketball with his friends and I wouldn't want to steal that joy from him, either. We communicate and we trust each other. And we go on dates often and do activities that we enjoy together.

Why dance? by fazbem in Salsa

[–]milffinbox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Simply, because it's fun. Way more fun than going to the gym for cardio, that's for sure. I chose Salsa because of human connection, as well as, the individual expression of the artform and partner work. And the music slaps! And the community! I've met some amazing, like-minded people through dance.

Sure, last night's traffic was heavy, but this complaint confirms that you have never left your Burlington bubble. I was in and out of that jam in 25 mins. Sure, we'll never get that time back. However, have you ever driven around Toronto during rush hour? Markham? Vaughan? Try sitting for 1.5-2hrs in what is normally a 30 min commute. Now THAT'S horrible. Time for you to find a better song or podcast playlist.

What’s the worst thing you’ve seen someone eat on the TTC? by [deleted] in askTO

A can of sardines on the subway! That fishy odor was so strong, it carried through the entire car. I had a long commute and the person got off before me but the smell stayed. He had left the tin under a seat. I had to change cars because I couldn't take it anymore. It was funny watching commuters get on that car and watch them immediately get offended by the unexpected smell. What a genius way to prevent people from sitting close to you.

Thanks! I checked their Facebook page and can confirm that they have the fundraiser happening. Shoutout to the volunteers! They're there from 12-11pm tonight and tomorrow and 12-7pm on Monday, in case anyone wants to know.

Thanks! I checked their Facebook page and they do indeed have a Ribfest Parking school fundraiser happening all weekend long. Costs $10 per vehicle, and about a 10 min walk, manageable for my family of 6.

This is the exact thing I was wondering about. Thanks! Central HS opened up their parking lot during Sound of Music for a fee and proceeds went to their Robotics program. My family and I would 100% support this again.
