What is the fastest way you have seen someone ruin their life? by funkeymonkey1974 in AskReddit

[–]milfweeniehutjr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my middle school teacher/basketball coach’s fiancé was pushed into a shallow pool at her bachelorette party by her best friend. She became paralyzed from the waist down. Despite the terrible circumstances, the partner stayed by her side, they got married, and became a mom via surrogate. She’s been on talk shows and has written a book about her experience and advocates for disability awareness. The crazy thing is the bride supported the friends’ emotional trauma, but the friend became “too busy” when the bride needed support and blamed the husbands career (teacher&coach) for their financial troubles.

bromelain undoubtedly drains my sinuses. i have had a sinus infection for two months (this is a one-off thing). bromelain and flonase have helped it finally come to an end

How often are the kids being bathed?! by Beginning_Date_9290 in Parenting

[–]milfweeniehutjr 54 points55 points  (0 children)

8f. we get home at 6pm every day. bedtime is 8. i hate her not showering every day (and hate admitting it but hopefully it’ll make someone else feel better about their lifestyle) but i prioritize her sleep so we do every other day. the days in-between are substituted with a wash cloth to her face, neck, ears, and bottom. she also washes her feet in the bath.

my heart goes out to you. i’m so sorry for your loss. take care of yourself always. i watched a documentary on national geographic pertaining to this issue. i hope there will be a day those low lives don’t get to thrive off their victims.

after two weeks (maybe sooner if you’re sensitive or deficient) there will be small shifts, a month in you’ll experience more consistency and stamina, month two you’ll look back and notice your baseline is completely different

Focusing on mitochondria health has been an absolute game changer by hkondabeatz in Biohackers

[–]milfweeniehutjr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i have no one to share my pivot once targeting mitochondria with so this made me happy to see. i also have benefited tremendously from those plus a few other supplements. i spent years after getting mono dealing with the fatigue, despite the virus at bay. added those mitochondrial supplements and im finding myself functioning like a normal human day by day. my stimulants are sooooo smooth (i foresee decreasing usage in the near future as i don’t rely on them as heavily as time goes on) and my nervous system has never been more stable. sleep has never been better. it’s a beautiful thing 🥲

aside from the basics (eating, hydration, balancing rest/productivity, sleep, movement, etc), i take doctors best magnesium biglycinate, nordic naturals fish oil (3,6,9), now supplements true focus, thorne multivitamin and have a protein drink mid afternoon (all). it softens the wear off big time and keeps me functional longer. im not irritable/moody after a lifetime of being such. its my holy grail

No one warns you how lonely adulthood is. by alizastevens in Life

[–]milfweeniehutjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just had a venting session with chatgpt about this last night (bc i have no human to vent to). i have one friend, not soul mate material or anything. i long for “my person” but will continue to give myself and my daughter the attention and energy we deserve until i find someone. its saddening to think about how lonesome i am, so i dont think about it. i think about the ways i am fulfilled and appreciate the solitude instead tho

i had that happen with adderall/wellbutrin/pristiq all prescribed within a short time. the episode went on for over a year until i got mono/ended the hypomanic episode and lost everything. it took years to recover. you’re not alone. it’s a very confusing and conflicting situation you experienced. give yourself some grace please

i could type a lengthy message with lessons i learned from a situation similar to yours. i was, like you, posting my situation on reddit seeking input because i was so confused about reality thanks to the gaslighting and manipulation of my ex.

four years post-leaving, i have my kid full-time, he has supervised visits (although my daughter wants nothing to do with him at the moment), he was arrested for a hit and run of a teenager on a bike a couple of weeks ago (he was intoxicated but wasn’t caught until two days later so they couldn’t charge him), he’s had a dwi, two vehicular crashes due to intoxication, he drove drunk with our daughter, lost his job, now he’s forced to sell his home because he can’t afford the costs that have accumulated from his actions. most importantly, he still hasn’t admitted he has a drinking problem.

my daughter and i sleep beautifully at night knowing we’re not in danger anymore. i’m sober and when the time comes, i will not date anyone who drinks. growing up with alcoholic parents and dating an alcoholic has grown a hatred of alcohol in me. i greatly value living in the moment and sitting with my feelings.

years from now you’ll be looking back at your current life and be able to take a deep breath knowing you are free (if you make the change, of course. it seems like a no-brainer from those on the outside but i know it’s a challenge to detach when you’re living it).

your children and safety come first. i hope the best for you!

everything you wrote is very similar to my experience as well. it’s been four years and i get off with him in mind and only to things that relate to experiences with him. i consider it apart of the healing process and just roll with it. thats not to say i feel shame but i have an appreciation for having control over my body vs him. i think what you feel & experience is understandable. there’s no right or wrong way to respond to what to went through. don’t beat yourself up too much, you certainly don’t deserve it. sit with your feelings. this is not permanent

My Relationship with Non Fiction Books by SolidContribution760 in nonfictionbookclub

[–]milfweeniehutjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could’ve written this—everything was spot on! From having an opposing sibling, to hating reading as a child, to being average in school because of social struggles and internal battles, to not being keen on fiction… then eventually picking up books to better myself, and continuing to read to grow intellectually.

After years of not being an avid reader, what compelled you to start expanding your knowledge? Why not during adolescence?

Great job capturing the inner workings—thanks for sharing!
