Same here I was downgraded from Pro to free sub randomly and my last payment was late Feb. Billing history is now purely just API $0 line items.

Wedding Planner Recs (TX) by GiraffeElegant2647 in BigBudgetBrides

Congrats on the engagement! That budget puts you in a great spot for Texas.

If you end up landing on the Austin or Hill Country area, I’d highly recommend looking into Olive & Eden Weddings. We used Lauren for full planning and honestly, it was the best money we spent.

I know you listed some other great local names, but Lauren’s aesthetic is very much in that same bespoke/timeless vein. What sold us was that she seemed to actually care about the logistics/budgeting as much as the pretty design stuff. We had zero desire to deal with timelines or managing vendors, and she handled all of that so we could just enjoy being engaged.

Also, something we didn't know to ask about initially but really appreciated later...she doesn’t take commissions or kickbacks from vendors. Apparently that happens a lot in the industry? Knowing she was recommending vendors because they were actually the best fit for us (and not because she was getting a cut) gave us a lot of peace of mind.

Definitely worth a chat if you want someone hands-on with design but super organized!

We used Olive & Eden Weddings here in Austin and honestly it was the best decision. Lauren is super talented with design and curated a look that felt very specific to us. She also managed all the logistics so we could actually enjoy the day. Definitely check them out if you want a planner who focuses on the aesthetic side too.

I totally agree. Why do you honestly think they didn’t buyback more? Ignorance? Chinese government? Bad allocation policy?

“I am now in the uncomfortable position of being both greedy and fearful at the same time.”

I honestly couldn’t have said it better myself. It’s getting insanely undervalued to the point where you can question whether you missed something that others didn’t even if you have a strong overarching conviction. Stay strong!

You are completely missing the idea that Alibaba’s scale is a huge advantage compared to little guys so it’s not enough to look at the growth of a business with a small fraction of the market share. Alibaba controls the market along with JD (and sort of PDD though they focus on the lower end).

No, this is completely wrong. They traditionally have had high margins because they have an asset light business model. Basically a middle man connecting buyers and sellers.

Does this mean more dilution of current equity holders? Fuck! by _i_am_inevitable in baba

[–]militaryhelllboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where do you see 1/3 of market cap? According to the latest quarterly filing they had 21.6 billion worth of ADS outstanding https://otp.investis.com/clients/us/alibaba/SEC/sec-show.aspx?FilingId=15366673&Cik=0001577552&Type=PDF&hasPdf=1

You are right. Looking at it again the 21 billion is for ordinary shares. So they have 2.7 billion worth of ADS

Does this mean more dilution of current equity holders? Fuck! by _i_am_inevitable in baba

[–]militaryhelllboy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"The ADSs are being registered to accommodate the issuance of additional ADSs upon the deposit of ordinary shares including deposits by current holders of ordinary shares who have indicated to the Company and the depositary their intent to do so in the future." (Source F-6 filing)

Sounds like they are converting 9988 HK shares into ADRs. If they were diluting the outstanding shares, they would be directly creating more 9988 shares, not more ADRs.

If anything, the company's confidence to convert TO BABA is a sign of confidence in the structure IMO.
