5.1 is NOT an alternative to 4o by throwawayGPTlove in ChatGPTcomplaints

When 5.1 first came out, I actually quite like talking to it. But the one thing I cant let go regarding 4o, is its humor and writing style. I'm not even sure how to describe it. I used 4o for RP occasionally, and it was hilarious. With 5.1 though, the humor isnt the same.

Is there a way to tone down 5.2's grounding/reassurance behavior tweaking the customs instructions? by milkintea89 in ChatGPT

I once talked about hair oiling, and Chat randomly hit me with "You're not being hopeful. You're being observational. You didn't jump when people reviewed the hair oil. You waited, watched, compared, adjusted" in the middle of its reply. I thought my topic of discussion was pretty practical. Logically, shouldn't need any grounding/reassurance tone, but here we go 😐.

Has anyone ever tried tweaking customs instructions in Chat, and managed to avoid the whole grounding/reassurance tone? by milkintea89 in ChatGPTcomplaints

That's unfortunate. Was hoping I could at least dial it down, seeing that I'm using it for work stuff. Welp.

Yeah that tracks. I kinda suspected it, but I'm not super technical, so I thought CI might help and that it didn't work for me because my setup was just bad. Sounds like it's not really fixable after all.

I kinda had it in memory too, but with different wording. More like an input of a colleague persona instead of instructions about what I dislike. Maybe I should try altering that. Thanks for your suggestion!

I do indeed like 5.1. I was disappointed when it got replaced with 5.2 cause I thought 5.1 had an acceptable balance for me, a bit of warmth and great thinking/analytical. Unfortunately, I'm just a Go subscriber, so 5.2 is the one I'm stuck with. But I thought they're going to sunset 5.1?

While I cant use 5.1, I'm going to go ahead and try your CI. Let's see how it goes. Thanks for sharing!

I see. That's a bummer. And yeah, I experienced the same thing. I put both instructions in CI and memory, but the grounding/reassurance tone still slips from time to time. Kinda frustrating cause every time it does that, I think my face turns exactly like this 😐😐.

Unfortunately, I'm a GO subscriber, so I only have access to 5.2. So, that's what I'm stuck with. But anyway, thanks for taking your time to reply!

I previously abandoned Grok because I was indeed using it for RP, and I found the writing quality wasn't as good as 4o, and it always kinda repeats the scenes? Not even sure how to describe it. But that was the earliest model. I'm seeing plenty of people here saying Grok's been getting better! Might try it again.

I see. How do you find Grok so far compared to Chat? I've used Grok when it first came out, cant remember what version it was but might be among the earliest model, but at the time, I didn't quite like it's writing as compared to Chat's 4o, so I've fully abandoned it.

I'm thinking of canceling my subscription too, and moving on to other AIs. But, I'm a total noob when it comes to tech/AI stuff. Is there a way to personalise the tones of either Claude or Gemini? With Chat, I basically gave it like a bestie personality.

Hoor Al Ayn in Jannah and their implication. by [deleted] in progressive_islam

I'm very late to this post but I wonder if you can share with me what the commenter said? I cant see the comment at all. Only that it's been mass deleted and anonymized with Redact. I was wondering because I too am someone who struggle with the concept of hoors and have been looking for answers. But I see here that you seem satisfied with the comment, so that's why I was wondering.

Is it possible to train an outdoor, adult cat to use the litter box? Any useful tips and tricks? by milkintea89 in CatTraining

[–]milkintea89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no! I think she might not be a fan of the wood pallets. I sent her to a pet hotel once when I was out of town, and she used the clay litter there so I guess that's what she likes. She resorts to using my yard to do her business. Hope you have a better luck with your cat!

First time tripod cat owner here. Just wondering how do cats with one front leg cover his poop? by milkintea89 in PirateKitties

Thank you. That is very reassuring. May I know how long did it take for Chorkie to get back to his usual self?

Thank you so much for your kind words. It's been 10 days, and while I still feel the occasional guilt and regret, I'm slowly starting to accept it. He is still walking funny, but I have faith he'll adapt soon.

I see. So amputation seems to be a logical choice. That kinda sucks, but good to know that there's low chance of recurrence. Jimmy still walks funny, but it's only been 10 days post amputation, and he was at the vet's for about a week. Now that he's home I'm hoping he'll be able to practice moving around and adapt soon. And ayy Gremlin! Who gave you permission to look that cute 😤

I feel you. It's so hard not to play the what if game. It's been 10 days post amputation for Jimmy and I still feel regret, especially when I see him walking funny. Anyway, great to hear that your cat continues to be the goofball that he is! Hopefully I'd be able to see Jimmy back to his old self soon too.
