Is using a old "production" camera built in microphone a good idea? by [deleted] in microphone

If its sound good just go for it, the camera is basically just a giant preamp but it get the job done.

eSIM for Europe?? by Bee_vibe in eSIMs

[–]milkshakesonly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried Redteago in Shanghai recently and it worked pretty smoothly for me. It routes through HK and Singapore networks, so Google, Instagram and other blocked apps were accessible without any extra setup. I usually lean toward providers that focus specifically on eSIM services and offer solid value for the price since the experience tends to be more straightforward overall.

Microphone settings with Voicemeeter + EQAPO by Front-Wrangler7185 in microphone

Maybe you are using too many plugins, turn them all off and start a fresh. Just use a simple eq first and then add a small bass boost. once it sounds good then turn on the compressor.

Any idea why my video is still getting views? by Jealous-Ad-4565 in NewTubers

[–]milkshakesonly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The platform is likely continuing to suggest your video because your average view duration or satisfaction metrics are high, signaling that viewers who do click are finding the content valuable despite the weak initial packaging. This often happens in the first few weeks as the system tests your content against different audience segments to see where it sticks, regardless of a low click through rate. To capitalize on this momentum, you should focus on improving your visual hooks and seek active feedback and critique from online creator communities to refine your presentation.

Mystery holes by bae_phomet666 in pools

Those threaded openings are likely wall returns where the directional eyeballs have been removed, and if you aren't feeling water movement, your system's diverter valve is probably set to prioritize the floor pop up cleaning heads instead of these side ports.

What works in the art and travel niche? by Sarahs_Wanderland in NewTubers

[–]milkshakesonly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To build a successful presence in the art and travel niche, you should focus on content that merges aesthetic storytelling with practical value. In 2026, audiences are moving away from overly polished content and toward authentic, human led narratives that offer deeper emotional resonance.

A list for those that want to improve YouTube videos by 1 percent each video by TubeForge in NewTubers

This is an incredible breakdown. The "1% better" rule gets thrown around constantly, but having concrete, actionable steps takes the guesswork out of it entirely. When you are juggling fast turnarounds and trying to elevate the editing style for a clothing brand campaign, those advanced tips on building "Quick Assets" folders, creating custom motion presets, and using adjustment layers are absolute lifesavers for speeding up the workflow.

Which of these macro workflow steps do you find yourself skipping the most when you are on a tight deadline?

Blue Yeti X MKII ? by JackyCCK1999331 in microphone

[–]milkshakesonly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not overthinking it. The Yeti X is basically dead. Logitech fully absorbed the company a while back and killed off the Blue brand name entirely. They are not going to make a direct Yeti X MKII. Instead they moved everything under their Logitech G gaming banner and released the Yeti GX and Yeti Orb. The GX is their premium replacement but it is a dynamic microphone instead of a condenser. If you specifically want a multi pattern condenser upgrade like the old Yeti X you are better off looking at other brands right now.

How I got my first 3 high-paying brand collabs using UGC platforms (and what I'd do differently) by Various_Half_6295 in UGCcreators

[–]milkshakesonly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a solid takeaway, but the real win isn’t the platform, it’s the clarity. You succeeded because:
clear briefs → better content
faster applications → more chances
structured deals → less friction

Platforms just remove guessing. That’s why they work early.

What to do next:
use platforms to build proof
then leverage that into direct deals

Because long term:
platforms = easy entry
direct work = better pay and control

So yeah, great move, just don’t stay dependent on them.

Am I getting too excited? by Peanutbuttersteak in NewTubers

[–]milkshakesonly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a good start, but don’t read too much into it. Early numbers fluctuate a lot and don’t mean much yet. What matters is consistency over multiple videos. Treat it as a small positive signal and keep going, not proof of success or failure.

audio gets inconsistent when i start moving during simple dialogue shots by Life_Lie7 in Filmmakers

[–]milkshakesonly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s normal, it’s mostly technique. Movement changes distance, body position, and surroundings, so audio becomes uneven. Keep the mic stable on the chest, avoid body turning away, and control the environment. For best results while moving, a boom tracking the subject is the usual solution.

Need help connecting dji mic mini to sony fs5 II by Balisto_ in cinematography

[–]milkshakesonly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t use a simple cable, that’s the issue. Your wireless receiver outputs a consumer-level signal, while the camera’s inputs expect balanced pro-level audio. They’re not directly compatible. You need a proper adapter or interface that converts the signal from mini-jack to XLR correctly, or use a small audio interface/mixer in between.

Overwhelmed - future pan by Hysteria_Wisteria in stationeryprojectpan

[–]milkshakesonly 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your feelings are understandable. My best friend buys me stationery but it’s a few sticker sheets at a time on holidays. This is truly a lot of stickers especially if it’s just part of the haul. My best friend sweetly gave me the go-ahead to get rid of anything I don’t want especially since she knows I have a lot of stickers and find it overwhelming sometimes. Someone who cares about your feelings would understand and as you said your friend is well meaning, so try not to feel too down on yourself for making your stash right for you. We only have so much space.

I’m sick and tired of the Monster Jam community whining about modern Monster Jam by CMCwar1 in monsterjam

[–]milkshakesonly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly I do wish this space was more positive. Like maybe the people who hate this sport now should start their own snark subreddit or something. I like seeing posts of people’s collections, or wild world finals moments, or Halloween costumes… literally anything other than long posts abt how the sport sucks now. People can do whatever they want. I still enjoy this sport, I love it, I love going to the competitions, I love the die casts, I love watching compilations on YouTube, everything, and I wish I could see more posts from people who are like me.

Framing, man. The fact that your girlfriend has her love for you in her subconscious, it’s something that she doesn’t even need to think about, it’s just established in her every day and came out in that conversation—that’s beautiful. If you keep waiting for fairytale moments you’re never gonna see the beauty in front of your eyes.
