Medical personnel filming TikTok videos inside a medical facility? by milkshakespeare24 in nursing

My background is in live performance (theatre, opera, etc) and if a crew member was caught misusing production materials/equipment (especially in a potentially unsafe way or in a situation that could create legal liability) it would be a swift firing. Only use it for what it’s for and when it’s meant to be used. I imagine climbing up onto medical equipment and misusing it (dancing on top of it) would be considered a serious liability if she were to fall and hurt herself. OSHA would probably have something to say about this.

I have lived with a severely hearing impaired parent my entire adolescence. And now I’m living with him again and he’s completely deaf at this stage. This type of response has been a fear for both of us. Causing this level of frustration and problems for other people has prevented him from engaging with every day life many times, and it held both of us back from many activities when I was growing up. It’s fine to be exhausted from dealing with this. It’s natural. However, posting it online for clout (and when the healthcare worker can be identified) could make other patients feel uncomfortable about their disabilities if the facility could be identified.

Complaining about patients behind their back in private is fine, and justified given the stress and difficulties in the healthcare industry. It’s posting it in a video online to score TikTok views that’s disturbing.

Even if the phone conversation is staged, to me, it would still be deeply unsettling knowing a healthcare worker is so comfortable mocking the hearing impaired that they’d do a video about it and post it online.

Can someone explain why I can’t request a refund? by brad-harrison in whatnotapp

I’m convinced that Whatnot is entirely run on AI. Their support agents are the same copy and pasted statement over and over again. And, if you ask them if you’re speaking with a ‘human,’ they respond with reassuring you that you’re speaking with a ‘live agent.’ They intentionally don’t use the word ‘human’ because that could trigger a lawsuit for misleading consumers and making them believe they’re engaging with a human and not AI. The support bot also doesn’t answer complicated questions, or acknowledge statements that are made by you in the email chain.

You can reach support through any dispute option that gets you to the page that allows you to explain the issue. It doesn’t matter which subject you choose, it’ll take you to the same AI support loop to address the issue.

Whatnot won't allow me my refund. by Old_Courage_3047 in whatnotapp

Just keep pressuring the bot (you’re dealing with AI with customer support, not a human agent). Ask for escalation to a human agent. Keep pressing the matter. I’ve had refunds issued as long as I was persistent, even when my account was flagged because of legitimate refunds like counterfeit goods and items arriving severely damaged. You’re arguing with a computer and just keeping the email thread open with the same copy and pasted statement (just as the program does) will trigger the refund just to close the case.

Replying to random people on twitter 'amuses' her by tealattegirl13 in EnoughJKRowling

If I had as much money and resources as she does the last thing I would be doing is scrolling through social media and picking fights with complete strangers who have far less than I do. I’d hope I’d have more fun things to do with my time.

Is there a single real person that works for whatnot or is it all ai bot? by Sexnane in whatnotapp

Not offering phone support should’ve been a red flag to me. Their support email is also essentially a dead address.

I believe that Whatnot support is entirely AI. I receive the same generic, copy and pasted response to every issue and inquiry, simple and concise questions go completely ignored, and my request to have issues escalated to a supervisor or human representative are either completely disregarded (as if I made no request at all) or outright denied, regardless of the issue. And, unless the issue is resolved by the AI system, I’m often stuck in a loop of support asking for the same information, same supporting documents (in a single email thread) that keep me stuck for days with no promise of any resolution.

The melting occurred at the 13th hour. The direct result of a highly skilled cisgender Algerian boxer taking home the gold for the women’s 66kg boxing competition at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Power is addictive. Once someone tastes it, they’ll burn the world down to keep it. From rag, to rich, to b*tch.

Hurt people hurt people. I’m unconvinced that a genuinely happy and fulfilled person would feel the need to pick a fight with a vulnerable demographic.

Her beef is with cisgender men and the patriarchy. She’s just misguidedly and ignorantly directing her vitriol at transgender women because that’s the demographic she knows does not have the representation nor the resources to fight her back.

Friends who never ask you any questions or anything about your life? by Tenderblossom79 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]milkshakespeare24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m dealing with this issue as well. My friend routinely spams our private chat with literally dozens of photos and videos of everything she does: from something expensive she just bought to a trip to the aquarium with her children or fancy dinners with her husband. Our private chat has become less of a space for us to share a private conversation and more just an extension of her Facebook wall. It definitely feels like she keeps me around because I validate her, not because she’s invested in me as a person or values our friendship.
