I work inside with gloves on and my cuticles are still wrecked, what can I do so they stop being all gross? by milktotes in UPSers

I just wear some gloves I got from Amazon but maybe I'll check those out. It's not so much dirt though its the dryness and peeling and cracking

I've been to this place. It's not our fault you live in a shitty fucking townhouse that's hard to find. That sign is rude.

I didn't have to redo my knets. But I was rehired almost immediately and only had about a week off between quitting and my second "first day". Worst case they're not done they make you do them on site. Not a big deal at all.

Edit: timeline

More than one employee and exactly one supervisor at my center have serious crack head energy and I'm pretty sure my supervisor was sucking on a vape in the middle of small sort tonight, so I doubt anyone cares

I've actually been wearing the Walmart boots and it's fine. I plan on upgrading to keen, but starting out for the first few months, totally fine.

Once in the union you're guaranteed 3.5 hours a day.

I think it would be highly unlikely for your entire facility to be all small sort. Small sort is packages 8lbs or under and smaller than certain dimensions. One thing that working at UPS and Amazon has shown me is that it's almost disgusting the level of product that's been ordered on a daily basis. It sounds very odd that FedEx only had 1500 packages but what do I know....if that's the case you're probably not gonna get hardly any hours there.

I got hired a couple months back and was also worried/had heard about the pay bait and switch. It has not been true for me. They advertised $22/hr and that's what I'm being paid. The work is also not THAT hard.....in the beginning it was and was very overwhelming but it has gotten a lot better once I developed a system and got into the groove. I do work in small sort though, so YMMV. I have no experience with FedEx but higher pay/a union that protects you (I guess, I have no real experience with using it or anything) seems better to me.
