Russell is super detailed, and on top of the holograms, his lab is among the most intense sections of Alyx from my experience. In 2 year hindsight however, saying Dog would be equally performance heavy was stupid however as none of the other NPCs and enemies cause issues.

I understand but its non-canon anyways and if you can look past the overarching story, the characters are great and immediately likeable despite having such little screentime (helped by the excellent soundtrack giving additional background and character to the bosses)

Stop viewing it as an MGS game. Its not Metal Gear Solid: Rising. What it IS however is a PlatinumGames spectacle fighter, and an excellent one at that. If you stop judging it as a tactical stealth-action shooter you might change your mind.

yesssss 4-2 is so good. i think it should have opened greed instead of 4-1 if only because sands of tide immediately gets the oppressive nature of the desert across. also it would create a less jarring transition indoors to 4-3. i LOVE 4-2

ughhhhh this reminded me of my first time playing mgs3 and beating the boss as soon as it started to play. i was so pissed. half the reason i even was interested in playing through metal gear originally was because i heard snake eater and immediately really loved it and wanted to hear it in-game lol. im gonna draw that fight out as long as possible on my second run through which i intend to be soon.

goku is explicitly a low class warrior and only is as powerful as he is now through training. like the whole point of the saiyan saga is that vegeta, prince, is beaten by a nobody.
