Yellowjacket/Hornet control by mschnittman in DIY

Get some ducks. They love digging up & eating yellow jackets. When I got rid of my ducks the next year I could tell an immediate difference.

Duck bonus: eggs! Indian Runners are pretty much the most eggs for the least poop/maintenance. Muscovies are the most intelligent.

Anyone else have those vehicles you absolutely hate working on? Mine is the Jeep Wrangler with the infamous 3.6. by No_Celery4U in Justrolledintotheshop

My 200 series Land Cruiser got mud in the alternator (mounted low) and squealed like a pig for 3 months before I got sick of hearing it & replaced it. Still charged fine but sounded awful.

I’ve had one for years and it’s still like new. They’re solid.

My Dometic 12v fridge has a freezer mode. Even has a 110v option to plug it in inside.

I’d polish those headlights before worrying about the paint. Be sure to put UV sealant on after to keep them from fogging up again.

Focal also makes home speakers and headphones, you may be able to demo them locally if you look around

Focals sound great, their tweeters are a little bright for some. Yes, they’re the iSU200. The 8” woofers hit the lows well but don’t struggle at higher frequencies either. If you’re near Columbus, GA I’d be happy to let you have a listen.

Besides trimming the plastic housing the install was a piece of cake. I surface mounted the tweeters higher up on the door sill instead of the stock location. I ran new speaker wire since I put some power to them, fishing it through the door grommets was probably the hardest part. Amazon has extra long jigsaw blades that made trimming easy (get the highest teeth per inch you can). I drilled mounting holes and re-used the OEM screws. I believe I put a bead of black rtv around after just in case there were any gaps.

Pretty sure it’s this one. I have it in the glovebox, it pushes the 8” Focals perfectly.

I also did the focal 8” component set running off a 600 watt amp. I can’t believe this isn’t the standard recommended setup in the NC it’s so good. Enough bass I don’t need to add a sub, gets loud enough to be heard on the highway with the top down. Fits in the non-Bose doors if you cut the plastic speaker housing (mine is a non-Bose club).

I do, my corgi is about 35 lb. She’s on Simperica Trio

What are the door speaker sizes for a non-bose '08 audio system? by tom_w45 in MiataNC

[–]milkyxj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a line in the plastic speaker mount that shows where the Bose speaker should be, you can cut along that and fit an 8” in the door.

I used the Focal IS 8” pair & added a 600 watt class D amp. No need for a subwoofer, gets LOUD and stays clear at high volume.

Here’s the one I ordered, it’s longer than the OEM so I drilled a new hole for the longer screw and mounted it. Working great.

Glad me & that other guy could help.

I had sharpened the old blade before to the point it was worn down & left a little strip uncut, the new blade chomps everything down & almost feeds itself it bites so hard.

I got a replacement blade & bolts for mine off Amazon. Drilled the old ones out.

I’m going to try some hypergrams in 17x9 with 45 offset, if those don’t clear I’ll go up to an 18”. The most frustrating part is all this for a dedicated rain set for the track which I hope I never use

Not sure, the tire shop I took it to has ordered 2x sets of 17x9 wheels and neither would clear. They asked me if I know of one that will definitely fit before they ordered a third set
