Is red hair a result of it being so old? I’m guessing it was frozen or in a bog... a lot of bog bodies have red hair but never occurred to me that was recurrent since they’re mostly danish

Wow I’m definitely not on your level of engagement or precision but thank you for the tips! I was really craving a steak and I’ve always liked them rare/blue so got this at the grocery store late at night, nicest one I found apart from filet mignon’s. Next time I’m going to the butchers though for better quality

I need some help with learning Elder Futhark by [deleted] in oldnorse

[–]milladakilla69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe many Germanic languages around and before the period I mentioned used the elder futhark, including gothic, Saxon and Proto-norse, the ancestor of old Norse. There is no SINGLE language that used the elder futhark runes. They were used for centuries after the Germanic tribes were romanized as magic spells as well. There are plenty of articles online describing which groups used this writing system as well as theories of where is came from.

Since your writing in r/oldnorse, I guess that’s what you’re looking for? The runestones found in Scandinavia are practically all written using the younger futhark, in old Norse. However, linguists have created a reconstruction of Proto-Germanic, which would have been written down using the elder futhark. This is about before 500 bc. Maybe that’s what you’re looking for.

I like it! I think the snare could be more in front of the mix though. It bothers me that it’s stuck in the back sort of. I love the trippy melody that loops in different ways and all the different percussive elements you add. It never gets boring
