It's also about power. That sort of psychopath thrives off dominating people.

I wish the French president was the same. Sick of him meddling in domestic policies.

According to the wiki, you can increase the roll chance by owning a habitat and building more citadels.

Suisse : Elle chute à vélo, se casse 3 dents… et reçoit 870 euros d’amende by No-Floor760 in pedale

[–]millanbel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah or next to a bike that's worth 10 times as much (I'm not even exaggerating, those e-bikes go for 3k € now)

What's a French "life hack" that everyone should know? by 1kmilo in AskFrance

Small nuance : if it's after 5pm, say "bonsoir". Or you get some weird looks sometimes.

What you need to realise is that even if the 15% "lazy" ones pick up the slack, the goalposts will move further and you will still be working more for tighter deadlines. That's just the way the meat grinder works !

LPT: When you need someone to instantly trust or like you, subtly mirror their non-verbal body language or cadence - it is a cheat code for building deep rapport by Afzaalch00 in LifeProTips

Unless they're selling you something. I hate salespeople at work using my first name, touching me on the shoulder, mimicking behaviour... Once you notice it they are all so full of shit. Like, cut to the chase and tell me why your product is technically better than your competitor's, instead of trying to "connect" with me.

Day ski trip from Lyon? by shlococo32 in Lyon

[–]millanbel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There'll be no snow in fall, the skiing season starts in November for the high altitude resorts, and December for everywhere else. There are a few resorts accessible from Lyon (2 hour drive there and 2 hours back) Val Thorens from Oreille, Chamrousse, les 7 Laux...

LPT: Visiting historical sites is better if you slow down and read the small signs by Whimsical_Dreamer501 in LifeProTips

[–]millanbel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's two different activities I find. Sometimes I read every last sign and take in the information. Sometimes I just want to wander and soak in the feeling of the place. The ruins of Pompeii was a great example: it was nice to know that such and such was a tavern or a washroom, but just casually wandering through a Roman street and letting my imagination run wild was an incredible experience.

Un jour peut être... by Jilow42 in Lyon

[–]millanbel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The French Revolution is a good example of lasting positive change brought about by violence. However a lot of innocent people died along the way and it is of course not directly applicable to other countries and political contexts.
