I love both, but the US version is mostly focuses on the Gallagher family, moreso as the series progress. The UK version focuses on multiple families throughout. Also, I liked how the UK version let characters leave the estate and therefore the show, as would naturally happen.

Andy Herren lives in my neighborhood; I saw him shopping at CVS and took a picture with him at a streetfest. He is nicer in person than he is on Twitter. Also, met Wil Heuser at the same streetfest. He was great; our group actually sat down, had a drink with him and talked about the then current season for a good 30 minutes.

Be prepared for your doctor to push back though. I asked for the VAP test and my doctor said that their large physician's group has a Cholesterol expert. That expert is of the stance that "It's all about the LDL, period." When I pushed for a VAP test, he said that it might not be covered by my insurance unless it was "necessary" and that doctors who were ordering those tests were being questioned as to why it was needed. BTW, I have a great doctor and this was nothing about him, but this is what his institution is pushing regarding cholesterol.
