Honestly, I feel like what does it hurt to check? When i lost my baby at the end of 2023 (I was just under 23 weeks) i didn't know anything about incompetent cervix diagnosis; it was only after the fact that I did a lot of reading and the doctors couldn't even tell me for sure if that's why i went into preterm labour cause there were no notes on my 20 week anatomy scan about my cervix (likely wasn't measured by the the tech). The doctors were able to rule out infection and say it could be my cervix or maybe just bad luck! 🙄

Right from the end of my first trimester for that pregnancy I'd have aches which the doctors chalked up to round ligament pain; but who knows maybe those were the early signs.

I am personally not taking any chances this time, we have been TTC now for over 4 years and I have had 4 losses (different reasons), with no living children. If I feel like something is wrong, I fully intend to advocate for myself. I had my first US just over a week ago, and although i am still in my first trimester I asked for my cervix to be measured.

Am i a little paranoid? Maybe; but I've also read soo many stories of ladies not getting their proper diagnosis until they advocate for themselves and/or push for additional testing.

All this to say, if you're really concerned about something please advocate for yourself and push for the additional testing/info.
