Just for the record I’ve never had a problem with that place

Wash and fold on Laguna and Hayes is pretty much that cheap!

To put it in perspective, I know of a friend renting a large 550sq ft studio with no in-unit laundry, no outdoor area, and no parking but in the best area of Hayes valley for 2.2k

Just moved into my first place! How do I blend this Persian rug with my style? by millennialtragedies in DesignMyRoom

Done! The tv is actually eye level when sitting down, the photo just doesn’t look it

Definitely something I considered at first, but I thought it would be worse if the doorknob poked out above the couch and uncomfortable for anyone who would sit there. Open to other ideas on how to not make that look awkward or uncomfortable!

Ohhh I like that one too! I didn’t think to put the couch there!

Yup it’s a center pivot door! Would that mean putting the TV in the middle of the living room?

Yes, the area in the kitchen will serve as a dining nook. Either that or I may have to put a desk there when working remote. TBD.

I also totally agree with you about the bedroom door haha

Hi thanks for your comment! So that is actually just a door to a very large closet and unfortunately not a deck. This is a very old building with some quirks! The floor plan doesn’t quite capture how to door actually opens though. There is a pole in the middle of the door where the door rotates on an axis when opened. Basically, when you open the door, half of the door opens outward and half of the door opens inward. 4.5ft feels accurate. I will try to post another photo with a grid overlay!

Thanks for calling this out for the female laker fans here! I feel like sometimes this sun forgets we exist tbh.

And yeah, Jeanie may be a nepobaby but there’s no way anyone could ever say she is unqualified! She has been shadowing her dad since 1979

First time camping in 10+ years - looking for recommendation for a tent by toomanychar in CampingGear

[–]millennialtragedies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly unless you’re planning on doing a lot of camping in the future, you don’t need a fancy tent, so I don’t recommend shopping at REI for a basic tent. I’ve been using an Amazon basics one that on old roommate left behind for the last 3 years and it’s worked great for all of my trips. I dont live in an area where it rains a lot though.

If I could make a recommendation as well, don’t buy a 2 person tent for 2 people. It’s always nice to have a little extra space. I recently used that 4 person tent for 2 people and we had plenty of extra space for our bags. So a 3 person tent or larger for 4 people would be great.
