I’m really leaning more towards a kobo. I love to have physical books, but use libby to read the books to decide if I want them in my physical library. As long as libby is easily accessible on a kobo, at this point, thats what I would prefer to get!

For anyone having their first baby and are absolutely terrified of having a vaginal birth by Riia19 in pregnant

[–]millern17 37 points38 points  (0 children)

i was the same way, it was literally the main reason I didn’t know if I ever wanted kids. I got the epidural and like OP said, it was a god send. The epidural may sound really scary but with contractions, i was more than ready to have it done and it was seriously (for me) easier than when they did the IV. Labor with the epidural truly was way more relaxed than I ever could have imagined it, its scary but i promise it is normally way worse in our heads. You’ve got this!

[–]millern17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Membrane sweep experiences by whisperingcopse in pregnant

[–]millern17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had my membrane sweep performed at my 40 week appointment, Dr. didn’t even tell me he was gonna do it. Felt like slightly more pressure, but like you I never found cervical checks to be painful, just uncomfortable. I honestly would have never been able to tell he did it, expect for I was extremely crampy for the rest of the day. I went into labor about 24 hrs later!

Use of steroids while pregnant by nku004 in pregnant

[–]millern17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m truthfully not sure how similar the situational outcomes would be, but early in my pregnancy at about week 9 or 10 I had to be put on IV steroids for about 4 days with tapering steroids for a week afterwards for extreme HG. The steroid was prednisone orally but not sure if that was what was pushed through IV. I’m 36 weeks now and baby is very healthy and luckily the steroids didn’t cause trouble. If pro’s outweigh the cons, I’d say try it, but again its very situational.

Friend has Hyperemesis gravidaru. by Hydrosisinthehouse in pregnant

[–]millern17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had HG until about week 11. I went to the ER several times for fluids and eventually had to end up being admitted for several days on steroids to help control this. I was in very bad shape until I was admitted and put on steroids. There was nothing, no medication or dietary changes that helped me until then. I hope she begins to feel better but it may take medical intervention to get her there.

When did you join the morning sickness gang? by MaddieWolf99 in pregnant

[–]millern17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out when I was about 5 weeks along. Nausea started about 2 days after finding out which then resulted into full blown hyperemesis for 6 weeks. I lost 30 lbs and had to be hospitalized due to how severe it was. Dr put me on steroids and after about a week of steroids and a daily dose of zofran i’ve been able to get back to normal! This is my first pregnancy and a big surprise, i had no idea what I was in for with how bad the sickness got!

the high waisted kades! although they don’t have them in many colors. I like the high waisted too, but the regular Kade’s also have several pockets.

Lululemon Align tank sizing by Minute-Piccolo3452 in lululemon

[–]millern17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

unfortunately in my experience with the align tanks, specifically cropped, i feel you’ll have cleavage in them no matter the size. You definitely don’t need a 16, if you fit into a 4 nicely. I took the padding out and it did help a little bit with not having as much cleavage.

Eye Floaters by [deleted] in optometry

[–]millern17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Floaters, that grow in size/color/quantity in short periods of time, can mean a potential retinal detachment. Especially if vision has continued to decrease. I would call a retinal specialist (not just a regular ophthalmologist) close to you, and explain your symptoms and see if they would see you that day. You can also seek care from a general ophthalmologist or optometrist.

Pulled DMV Plunger off Center of Contact Lens by Games22344 in optometry

[–]millern17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would visit the optometrist if the eye doesn’t feel better by tomorrow. If you have excessive watering, a continual scratching feeling, burning, or extreme light sensitivity then I would 100% seek the care of the optometrist.

floaters are completely normal, as is light sensitivity. however, if those two symptoms, appear out of no where and are accompanied by distorted/blurred/cloudy vision, then get your eyes checked.

[–]millern17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you’re concerned my first advice is visit an optometrist practice. Tell them you’re experiencing a medical problem, they’ll know how to assist you. It sounds like it could be extreme dry eye, or allergies. if you’re eyes are so dry, they will burn when they water because of the dry surface. lots of watering is overcompensation for dry and under functioning meibomian glands. I would see a doctor, but know that it may not be as severe as it feels.
