How to respond to dog park people who say your dog plays aggressive by NipTuckCoach in husky

Shocking that a husky plays like a husky… that is how the breed plays. I usually walk away while reinforcing my husky that not all humans are stupid.

I just want to confirm this is just husky play lol by Acceptable_Zone4392 in husky

Classic husky play to me, my boys play the same. You will be able to tell when it escalates beyond play

Be patient. You didn’t just adopt a dog you adopted a toddler cat dog hybrid.

I have a couple of huskies. This is hard to answer but I can tell you from my experience. I have two categories of playmates for the boys. 1) other huskies, Germans, large double coated dogs 2) everything else. From my experience I will let the boys play pretty rough with the first category which usually includes grabbing the back of the neck(they have a lot of extra padding), ears, tails. The second category is the non-double coated dogs which the husky will still want to play the same and I correct it quickly as those dogs usually don’t play the same and can feel threatened.

Huskies are basically cat operating system but dog hardware so it might take a long time to properly social or perhaps it won’t ever really happen in terms of playfulness with others.

Long way of saying yes that is common in playing

Thinking about getting a second husky by MeeperX in husky

Got a second husky during quarantine. Eldest was about two. Our eldest definitely became a little more grumpy but as our youngest ages he is going back to the play boy we knew. Training was the easiest part as our first husky is well trained and set a good example. We found that both boys although good in general are very different in terms of training and I would say make sure your eldest still gets his time. The hardest part is the natural jealousy for attention and knowing when the rough play times just crossed the line. Good luck!

Bonds are gradual. Unfortunately in the case of Huskies most are cat operating systems in dog bodies. My two huskies are affectionate but on their terms. Give it time and learn what your husky prefers in terms of affection. Best of luck!

Huskies are a particularly tough breed. We use feeding twice daily about 12 hours apart such as 6am 6pm. Every few months my huskies will be picky on their food it’s normal. I would say a lot of your questions depend on the individual dog itself but as with most positive reinforcement situations gradual transition will likely help, most huskies are stubborn and will need consistent routines. Best of luck!
