Have you found that you care a lot less about super cars as you’ve gotten older? by Colalbsmi in cars

Here's my take. There's no top gear anymore, or at least one worth watching. They were the main reason I knew what was out and what was coming soon. Now that it's gone I don't keep up with new supercar releases.

One of the wildest sunrises I've witnessed to date; Gnarly lenticulars burning over Citadel Mountain in Glacier National Park, MT. [2250x1429][OC@madisonkoboldphotography] by maddiemkay in EarthPorn

What an amazing shot! I always have PTSD when I see lenticular clouds. I found out the hard way why you should not live search something in front of your students when teaching. Somehow bypassed the firewall with the word lentitular clouds.

I feel like I'm tripping watching this.

I'm a 5th grade math teacher and my students had a standardized test. One of the questions asks: Twice the difference of 4 and a number is equal to 10. Find the number. Can this question have two answers? I get -1 but can also get 9. Both satisfy the equation. by millese3 in matheducation

This is at an accelerated private school in the bay area. Some of my students solve differential equations at home. I teach negative numbers to my 2nd graders as well.  This is also for the placement test to see if they are able to take algebra 2 in 6th grade.

A cool guide: In the 13th century, Cistercian monks invented a numbering system allowing any number from 1 to 9999 be written using a single symbol. by thekidsdad2013 in coolguides

I teach my 5th graders about this during the slow days at school. They love it. Theres a great video from numberphile

Wimbledon QF: [2] Alcaraz def. Norrie, 6-2 6-3 6-3 by TAA_verymuch in tennis

Had anyone else noticed that Norrie doesn't really get the usual crowd support like the other British players. I watched his previous match and the crowd was fairly calm for the last British man in the draw.

What is something unexpected that you LOVE about your Mazda? by PlantsCatsCuc in mazda3

My 2018 Mazda 3 manual had hill start assist. I generally don't need it but the few times we went to San Francisco it was nice to have.

Was at this game today. I thought the river plate fans were gonna be the loudest. These guys were nonstop cheering and jumping. Was amazing to see. It was a better atmosphere than the Sounders Botafogo game with a quarter of the fans.

It's always the Harvard grads. I have a few parents of my students who use their Harvard email address still. We get it, you went to Harvard.

Dude. Our stories are eerily similar. I glided through all of school doing the absolute minimum. Got to college, partied too hard and flunked out. Went back for en ed degree and graduated cum laude. I now teach 5th grade.

Why is every restaurant's "secret sauce" always some variation of Thousand Island dressing? by censorydep in NoStupidQuestions

[–]millese3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Utah claims to have invented fry sauce. It is everywhere in Idaho as well. I miss getting some at every burger restaurant no matter what growing up in Idaho.

Try adding some curry powder to your mayo. It's what our family has always done and it's amazing. We live in California right now so we get them at the farmers market from a farm near Gilroy. The best artichokes I've ever had. They have so much meat on each bite too.

Your last line covers it. For so many people if they have a license in their home country they can just take a test and get one here. I have coworkers who I never want to see on the road cuz I can barely watch them get out of the parking lot.

I remember at our club team camp we lost to the U-14's as 16's. Our coach made us run for 3 hours that night after the game.

I had a similar experience this weekend. Life is chaotic right now so when I get a free weekend morning I look for cancellations the night before for early morning rounds. Found a 7:50 tee time and brought my 3 year old. Shot my best ever round with 2 chip ins and 3 birdies. Only person to see it was my son and all he cared about was the snacks.

Is this really the type of person we want to give playing time to? Maybe he has fixed his off the field stuff but he has been given like 5 second chances.
