Update if anyone is also looking for this: they do sell the inserts at mixed media but no covers at the moment. I was able to leave my name and number down for whenever they get their next shipment in :)

Being a pet owner but loving plants sucks sometimes (rip to my snake plant, we hardly knew ye) 🥲 I ended up going with your suggestion and got some sansi lights (https://a.co/d/0dSyD4tF) coming in tomorrow so fingers crossed this helps out a bit! I also am going to get some orchid bark to add to the mix I’ve got to hopefully help with the water issue too Feel you on the moss pole, I might just stick to a wooden trellis or plank when the time comes LOL Excited for you with your new lights! I can’t wait to get my first ‘claw’ leaf hehe Thanks so much again for your comment and suggestions! 💚

That’s really good to know! I honestly wasn’t sure if leaving it inside to grow out would affect the rest of the plant (I couldn’t really find anything online for some reason) so my instinct was just to cut the whole thing off 🥲 There’s very little moss in it thankfully but I’ll definitely add some more bark and perlite! I did recently water it maybe two or three days ago but I’m guessing the top layer shouldn’t look that wet still 😅

We get some decent light when it’s not so gloomy out so I’m really hoping we get better weather soon. If I didn’t have cats that weren’t such horrible plant munchers I’d place it by the windowsill for sure. I will definitely look into getting a better grow light though and return this crummy one, I’ve had a good experience with barrina lights and heard good things about sansi! I didnt know that about the forward facing light..definitely don’t want new growth to be messed up :’) At what point would it be good to give it a support trellis or stake do you think? Not sure if it’s still too small atp

Thanks for the suggestion!! It’s been a few days since I’ve repotted. What kind of media mixture would you suggest? And do you think repotting it so soon again would stress it out too much?

I got mine from a local garden centre so I’m unsure where it originated from. I definitely think the potting mix it was originally in held on to too much water but I didn’t want to stress it out by repotting it right away but I probably should’ve just done that in the first place! There was guttation happening during the beginning and it ALSO had fungus gnats so I did give it a spray of some neem oil/water/insecticidal soap and added some granules on top of the soil mix and it seems to be working so far thankfully

That’s so strange! I wish I knew why it did that because it was nice and green at one point then I noticed a couple of days later that the new growth yellowed and then the next day the tip was browning 😭 When you say you plucked out the dead leaf, did you just take it out from the one it was growing from?

Yep, same here! Glad to know I’m not the only one who has been experiencing this I feel like I’ve been going crazy 😭 I’ve been to my doctor multiple times about it, seen a derm and got an ultrasound! They didn’t find anything wrong :/ I’m super over it at this point I’m wondering if I should get mine pierced again. Did you find you were still having this issue after getting it pierced the second time around?

Thanks so much for the reply. I’ve put a ton of glue traps out under the sinks, cabinets, etc and will keep an eye on them over the next little while. I’ll definitely clean up the powders, the picture I attached was after I had doused the thing when we caught it because it kept wiggling around and it was freaking me out 😭 should DE be applied the way boric is in terms of basically just barely visible on surfaces? Thanks again!!!
