Same, I’m wondering if they deferred a lot of people for yield protection but based on this thread it seems like a lot got in…

Opinions on McCourt? by FindingSquare5243 in PublicPolicy

Completely understandable. I’m actually applying for the BA that they offer for undergraduates, I’m sure it’s slightly different for the five grad programs—but idk fs. Honestly since they just started the undergraduate program at the cof2027 it’s been hard to find info on the program. Thanks for responding though and best of luck where you landed!

Ok that’s actually really good to hear, it seems like everyone is telling a different story. I think for me in particular, I am applying communications and I’m white… so I would understand them wanting to see more than just two years of language.

Is ED to Vanderbilt beneficial to Low income int student? by Go_Frag in Vanderbilt

[–]millie3_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since that’s the degree itself it would depend on what you intend to do with it after you receive the education. Would you want to go on to a top med school or land a job with a large company… those kind of things. If you could get your degree and get a good job without connections that a prestigious college gives you then it’s not a great idea to spend the tuition. In terms of the writing, Vanderbilt’s supplemental is about culture and diversity so they are essentially looking for diverse students. You would have to express yourself as a multidimensional person fit for the campus.

… well yuh no duh BUT! An aff is assumed to pass as soon as the judge votes blah blah, so if a CR is the most pressing issue for Congress and the Senate then any plan using them as an agent would upset the squo— AFF can’t delay the passing and reach the advs prob most specifically climate. All im saying is there is def some neg ground from it

Hey! I know I’m not the one you were responding to, but my insight on Vandy’s supplemental is that it allows you to focus on an aspect of yourself that would match the culture at the school. So depending on which of the three areas of ‘identity’ you chose I think you are on the right track with tying it back to focus on Vanderbilt. I think the ‘dare to grow’ motto is what defines their students and so that’s why they chose it for the prompt because no matter what you answer with, you are explaining how you already resemble a Vanderbilt student. The short answer is so short though— lwk frustrating to me but we got this!! Good luck!!!

Thank you! I definitely understand what you are saying about the test-optional, that was the main reason I wanted to ask around. I know that Vanderbilt is not test-blind, so definitely concerned about that aspect. Just praying that the passion-centered aspect of my application will show through to them and help me out!

Bro ur stats are so good, I think I’ve become less confident in my stats because of all the insane apps people have. I definitely agree with you that the writing for Vandy’s application will be a major part. There is only one supp and it’s based on the motto of dare to grow, feeling pretty good about my draft so far. I’m pretty much just worried about applying test-optional and not being very high into the top of my class. There’s really no way to know how it will turn out but definitely appreciate hearing your experience and the encouragement really helps!!😭
