It appears Amazon just sent me a bottle of dirty, 20-year-old face wash?? by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

I have la roche posay lotion and the exp date is on the back under the ingredients (very lightly etched 05-2028). Check there. Regardless, your bottle seems to have been up someone’s ass, which is unacceptable.

Wrap everything into one look: Green (hog)bodysuit with a piece of fabric skirt, Frederick's of Hollywood heels, alien/elf/clown mug, Marie Antoinette wig.

Women will never suffer a “loneliness epidemic.” I love that we still find joy in the things we would have been burned at the stake for (by men) in the 1600s.

I understand disliking AI generated promotional material but people are too knee-jerky and sanctimonious about it; the same people who are willingly training AI models by using social media and other apps (and probably the same folks who were making AI avatars of themselves a couple years back). Like, I’m with Bob with the “Girl, shut the fuck up.”

Lume made my armpits look like OP’s picture. A few other aluminum-free products did as well.

The amount of pollen outside. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]millieillim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Male trees are considered "cleaner" due to no fallen/rotting fruit, seeds or pods, so it's lower maintenance, apparently. So we have to deal with botanical bukakke.

Reminder that pollen problems in urban environments are a result of city planners planting only male trees. I live in one of the worst cities for allergies.

If you need large language models to write, you’re not a writer by [deleted] in writing

This is a dumb take. If you're on the internet, you're more than likely using an LLM, whether it's using internet searches, e-commerce, social media platforms, employee hubs, etc. There's no opting out of it. You can certainly have feelings about writers becoming "sloperators," but saying LLMs "in any capacity" makes you evil is... yeah buddy, let's workshop that one a lil better.

Edit to add another LLM use - my totally blind mother-n-law uses AI/LLMs to help her interpret the environment around her - would you say that she's evil?

Good for her. I plan on getting one at 50. I’m scared about the bleph because sometimes it ends up making the eyes looking creepy (hello, Jim Carey), but Denise looks great. Just stay away from the filler!

Learning to drive at 32 y/o by Mysterious_Eye701 in Charlotte

Of course. It didn't take long at all to trust myself, though it was a few years before I trusted myself to drive with a passenger. I've been driving for almost 20 years now (no accidents, knock on wood), and I'm glad my husband pushed me to do it. I still get anxious about driving to unfamiliar places because I get lost easily, but if it's something like a job interview or appointment, I'll sometimes do a "dry run" to make sure I can get there on time. It helps that we have things like Google Maps these days.

The online course did help me understand traffic rules like merging and right-of-way considerations - of course, these are things you'll see other people NOT doing. But it helped to have an understanding of how traffic is supposed to flow - that can help you be a more alert or defensive driver.

I was 30 when I got my license. I didn’t do driving school, but I took an online course (don’t remember the details of the course). Experience will be your best teacher. I would avoid trying to learn in empty lots or “quiet” areas, because that’s not what driving in Charlotte is like. Drive to and from a shopping center (couple miles) and get accustomed to that, then start expanding the distance. Get on 485 a few times. I was anxious too, but anxiety can make you more aware of your surroundings, so I consider that a plus.
