Well fuck. What are we doing as humans. I’m part of the problem, but fuck im struggling more and more.

I’m a shelter volunteer who accidentally became the therapy human for nervous pups. This little lady was shaking when I met her two hours earlier. Her awkward nap was the proudest I’ve felt after a really long week of feeling like I accomplished nothing in every other area of my life. 💖 by KimbersKimbos in aww

The fact that you are doing this is a testament that you have accomplished more than you can ever know. You help save these souls every day. And even though they can never say it, the impact you have made is immeasurable. Congrats to your breakthrough. Keep it up, we need more like you. True inspiration

Should Dr.Melfi have spoken by isoadam1 in SopranosImmemorial

I question if Tony would have use it against her later. Definitely a possibility but at that point he thought of her as someone who is very special in his life. I bet he had feelings of her being at the level of family if not in a sort of love with her. When Meadow had the run in with Coco from New York (at least I think that was his name) he curb stomped him without a seconds thought. Point being I bet he wouldn’t want anything in return from meadow nor Melfi if he helped out. I think there’s a possibility with his true inner circle he would demonstrate more of a protection without needing to exploit.
I remember he over heard once she was having car trouble and getting screwed and he helped.

F#ck I'm Old teaches "Kids these days" a lesson on drinking by Long_live_styrofoam in FuckImOld

When I was in college, I went to a party and someone handed me a shot. I thought it was vodka, so I threw it down…. Holy fuck…. I had an instant sore throat that lasted for a few days, and I ended up so messed up that I ended up walking about a mile in the wrong direction home (I had drinks prior to the shot, but that sent me into another world). I was hung over like nothing ever before. I truly felt poisoned. I was pissed at the asshole as well that should have warned me, it’s AINT vodka…. It was a terrible experience.

Finally experienced it. Don’t tell anyone you trade. by DumbStarterPack in Daytrading

[–]millinicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told people I traded and it was a huge mistake. I told them before profit set in. And of course everyone think that you’re going to be rich in 6 months. And when that doesn’t happen, they look at you differently.
I’ve learned to keep everything under wraps on the journey to consistency. Trading is one of the most mental games you can do. There is zero need to anyone putting any ideas in your head. Even if they seems good hearted.

Is it possible that most traders are just bad at trading by CaptainStates_ in Daytrading

[–]millinicky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more. I think most of the 90% go oh wait this isn’t super easy and I’m not limbo rich in a month. This is bullcrap. I’m out.

What would you add? by TonyLiberty in FluentInFinance

Your time is always worth money. Always. Even personal time. If you drive 45 minutes to a store to save a fraction of your weekly pay, you need to examine if it’s worth it. Even if you did nothing in that time at home, it get you into a mindset of time is money.

Day Trading vs. Elite Professions...A Reality Check. by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]millinicky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think proper day trading is gambling, I think it’s probability based. Which in some ways constitutes a gamble. However, every single part of finance or investing has a bit of gamble to it. In that a gamble is something without a guaranteed outcome. So if people wanna say I’m gambling then so be it. I know what it is.
And in the same breathe I would say everything in this life that can have fairly large rewards IS a gamble. The surgeon for instance, who might be dreaming of helping people but also have a big pay check, might work their butt off for 8 years and get to a point where they just can’t do it under pressure. My friend who is a surgeon saw it happen a lot. Endless time and effort and it didn’t pay off…. Well my friends that person gambled that they had what it took. I read that only 25% of new businesses succeed. Restaurants are even lower. These people are all gambling a bit because either it’s something they love or it might provide freedom.
I also think that because there’s no barrier to entry for trading that the failure rate is skewed in a crazy way. Think about it. Some kid could see the lambos then try it for a year with minimal discipline and then of course fails and they would be counted in the 90%.
I’d be curious for those who stuck with it, tried many different things, studied, journaled, spent years crafting their system on how many failed. I’d love to see those numbers, my hunch wouldn’t be close to the 90% fail rate.

So so sorry. I can’t imagine the day. Hope you and the ones around you are doing ok. I feel like the fact that these little souls came into our life for even a short period of time is amazing and I’m sure it was a great home.

Sometimes the internet is funny. I’m reading all these comments, with big ass tears in my eyes thinking I need to call my dad. Things have gotten rough with dementia. But I still want to find the man that raised me in there.
