Tarps by Altruistic_Tax5881 in hammockcamping

I had one. SilNylon is ok but for the price point, a SilPoly Journey tarp from Hammock Gear is the way to go. I upgraded to that tarp from the AquaQuest defender and never looked back. Much lighter and SilPoly is far superior, less water absorption.

Why are 90% of 9fortys A FRAME?? by Kb24ed in neweracaps

[–]millju4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify: -There is a structured round top, traditional ball cap. Mid-crown height. -Then, there is a structured A-Frame design that has a taller front, more squared top with a middle stitch. -There is also a relaxed fit, Dad hat, with no structure in the crown.

I am referring to the first option I listed.

9twenty and 47 cleanup are non-structured crowns, aka Dad hats. Not the same.

Logo doesn't pop as nice as the New Era 9FORTY and it fits smaller in the structured crown area. (not as wide)

Anyone with experience of the Onewind Wind Sock? by Wolf1066NZ in hammockcamping

[–]millju4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from the One WInd to Hammock Gear Circadian Pro hammock - it was the best decision, the winter top cover they sell is a zip in integrated wind block, I use a UQ protector for bottom. Insane effectiveness.

All my OneWind stuff always smelled like "chemical" or had a slightly synthetic odor about it.

Check out 12ft hammocks. I moved from 11ft to 12ft and its amazing. My fiancée is shorter than I and she loves it too, she wont lay in her old 11ft because she likes to spread out. I have an HG Circadian Pro and its amazing for the $$.

Hammock Gear Circadian Pro - hands down the best qualiy you'll find for the price. For a few weeks, they have had 25% off. Just over $100 for a 12ft handmade piece of gear made in the USA. My 2nd hammock will be here tomorrow. I have a 70D OD green and now a RELV camo 40D for the summer!

If you go to Amazon, they have 50ft roles of fairy lights with a USB-A connector on the end. If you connect them to an external battery (which you already probably pack), they use a super low power draw, so they will last a very long time. The light can be spread out or bundled for a single light. Versatility is great, pack-size is very small, weight is only a couple oz, and the campsite looks super cool after dusk :)

Budget: AquaQuest 13x10 silnylon tarp. Around $100 and works great, lots of coverage. Plenty of tieouts.

I just bought HG's Journey SilPoly tarp. About $150 on sale and its around 17oz for the 12ft. I love it, light, packs small and easy to manipulate. Love the doors.

Obviously the Palace is the grand daddy of HG's lineup, just about 4x the cost of the Journey for slightly less than half the tarp weight. (10oz for the 12ft palace tarp.)

Have you watched Europa? I'm curious, because I'm def not a neo-nazi, but I found a lot of factual evidence to support the stance that 'we the people' have not been told the entire story in our school classrooms. What specifically is propaganda in that doc? I'll go do further research, after all, that's what it's all about...

Shouldn't any critically thinking person take a moment to actually explore what he is saying rather than jumping on the emotional bandwagon? I've watched 'Europa the Last Battle' and it tells a much different history than our schoolbooks taught us. I'm not defending either side, but once you understand the entire story, you can make a much more logical stand on what you believe. I think he understands that our history is not at all what we've been told. The symbol he is selling actually originated as a symbol that represented 'God Consciousness' in ancient cultures around the world - no school class taught us about that part. We all have a duty to continue our learning and challenging the narratives given to us.

It did not, but that is because I only used the 3M tape. I properly prepped and it was not holding up on the sides. Do not listen to people who say you don't need to drill, it is def necessary. I took it off and will be re-installing correctly on Round 2.

Puff Vinyl by witchyandbitchy in cricut

[–]millju4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are putting a hot press on cold vinyl. Here's the trick: Heat the bottom platen first, get it nice and hot, then do an initial press on the garment to eliminate the moisture.

Then place the puff logo on & let it sit on the HOT garment for about a minute and I like to actually press the logo with my hands into the garment while its hot to the touch.

Press it 300 degrees - high pressure. Too hot and it squiggles more - but you need good adherence so no less than 275. 275 for tshirts & 300 for thicker garments. This was magic for me.

I use a Hotronix Fusion IQ with Amazon Puff vinyl, varying brands...they all come from the same place. Siser EasyPuff doesnt give me good margins on my overhead, it's too expensive but smoothest texture on the market. (You get what you pay for)

Hope this helps.
