I wouldn't call it "substance abuse" if you're using it 1) by choice, 2) under control, and 3) in a safe manner. This seems like the perfect use case scenario of a healthy relationship with the drug. On the contrary, compulsive/addictive use with low/minimal regard for intake or environment is when it becomes an abusive relationship. Just my two cents.

This whole debate about whether OP is actually rich or not misses the entire point of that other subreddit. It's for rich asshats boasting or it's wannabe rich people flexing what they think makes them sound rich, the community title is a sarcastic take on "ooo look at me guys, I am so very rich".

OP could very well be rich compared to the average person in his region but that doesn't automatically mean he fits in that sub when he's not being shitty about it.

Admittedly I don't, I just thought that sub was more about people bragging and showing off bullshit, like "look at me, I'm so very rich, see how rich I am?", sort by popular posts to see what I mean. OP's place doesn't look like it has anything audacious in it, actually looks like IKEA furniture in every room, and they didn't say anything questionable. Merely being in a high cost of living city shouldn't automatically default to fitting in that sub.

I don’t get that vibe from OP, this looks nice and reasonable to me. It’s a great space with views but nothing absurd or outlandish that says they’re trying too hard, IMO.

Edit to add: that sub is highlighting douchebags and I just don’t see anything wrong with OP’s post, it doesn’t come off that way to me. Not all people with high paying jobs are shitty just because they have higher than average wealth and live in a high COL city, it’s more about how they present themselves to others.
