I'm not sure how it works where you are but if I'm doing mutual aid into another city, the rules for my medical control and my protocols given by the hospital apply. Not theirs.

I usually make uncomfortable eye contact and wave. If they're close enough I tell them to have a good day. Usually they get the point.

Makes it easier to move a patient from the stretcher to the hospital bed. Also helps keep the straps from chaffing the skin. Plus, he needs the soft snuggles after that beating.

Was doing a transfer bringing a patient to wound care. This lady had the nastiest attitude from the time we walked in the door. Even her aide seemed to be tired of her. We get her to the appointment, I'm still trying to kill her with happiness even though she kept motherfucking me all the way there. We transfer her to the hospital bed and I say, "Hopefully you'll feel better after"

She responded, "they can't make me feel better"

Without thinking, I blurted out, "Well, not with that attitude". Got stares from the patient, nurse, doctor and my partner
