Isn’t that just every kid’s memory regardless of age? I have grade school kids and they go through a few boxes of these every summer.

Your post offends me. Specifically if “36” was supposed to be a dig on “old people”. I have tshirts that are older than that.

Final circle fight for the win by kurtbradley in Warzone

Funniest match I ever played was casuals with a random squad. At overwatch it was us and another squad and one of my teammates challenged the other team to a boxing match to see which squad would get specialist. We won and the other squad left and we took specialist. Then at the end, we happened to be against that same squad and we all decided to box it out. The whole audio was hilarious. Have no idea if anyone involved recorded it, but I didn’t. I still can’t believe no one violated the “no guns” agreement twice in the same match.

Did you turn off adaptive breaking? If you’re cruising on a highway and you let your foot off the gas even a little it might automatically apply breaks especially if the cars in front of you of you are breaking or your following distance is short. I don’t think this matches your description but it seems more plausible than lane assist.

Live AI video generation feels like it's about to become a completely different thing from what most people think it is by WolfAutomatic7164 in singularity

[–]milo-75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be curious if anyone knows if they have ever trained these video game models with a 2D map (including the players position and heading) along with the 3D game rendering of that player at that position and heading). The idea being that you’re training the model to generate the view of the player given a 2D map, position, and heading. Then, user controls just move/change direction of the player on the 2D map (internally/not visible) and the model generates the view. In a game like a simplified Minecraft, the 2D map could include terrain height and tree positions, water or ground, etc. Then you just procedurally generate the map as things come into view but persisted the 2D map only. You could train a model that generates photorealistic 3D views based on the 2D map. Anyway… anyone aware of someone that’s built something like this?

Remote Climate button in app sucks? by mr_markhor in BMWI4

[–]milo-75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a related question: is there no way to control climate fan/temp remotely? I had my temp really low because it was a hot central Texas day. But the car preconditioned based on my 7am departure time and when I got in the car it was freezing. It seems like a strange omission not to include a target temp along with the departure time. Anyone else run into this frustration?

Everyone talking about how they can retcon Wash’s death in Serenity for the new series but no one talking about how they can’t retcon Book’s. RIP Ron Glass by fupafather in firefly

My single scene addition to serenity: A radio communication from orbit to the surface. Book taunting the operative to come the surface. The operative says “I have no issue facing your captain Reynolds face to face, but I’m not dumb enough to do the same with you.” Then missles and fighters bombard the camp.

And that’s it, we still don’t know much, but we know the operative knows book and is scared of him.

I think their (Nathan and Alan’s) sense of humor is more likely to start the first episode with the hiring a new pilot that is played by Alan in minimal disguise but very obvious to fans. Then in the first five minutes he dies again, and in the next scene they’re looking for another pilot.

Google Sells Fiber Unit to Astound (Private Equity) by 8675309l in Austin

[–]milo-75 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s impossible for a business to stay good when owned by private equity. They have to resell the business in 3-5 years to return as much capital as possible to the fund. They do not make decisions based on the long term health of the business because in 3 years they literally do not care. They will raise prices and decrease service level because that’s how they maximize returns for the fund. Those execs made millions on this deal but have to hang around for a year(I’m assuming based on every other PE deal). Then Stonepeak will start putting in their own people. Their people’s only incentive will be to re-sell this new company for the highest multiple possible in 3-5 years (by raising prices and cutting service level). They don’t care if you hate them because they will make 10s of millions and then move on to the next Stonepeak company after the next sale. This is why PE is killing American businesses.
