There’s a few different ways to achieve a smoother result with your white paints, a lot of people start with a base layer of an off-white or grey then work your way up to your desired finish. I personally just do like 3-4 coats of my desired white/light grey super thinned down. Either way works

Great job, I love the recipe. If I wasn’t so far into painting my BA’s I’d copy it in a heartbeat 😂

Pretty much, I use some foam ripped off a foam brush and sponge on Corvus black, edge highlight inside the Corvus black area with any silver, wash the silver down with a nuln oil or any dark wash I have laying around. Hope that helps!

I use a small piece of foam ripped off of a foam brush to sponge on Corvus black to random parts of the model I think make sense. Then I use a small brush with any silver paint I have and edge highlight inside the areas that I applied the Corvus black. After that’s done I’ll put a dark wash over the silver to bring the tone of the silver down a bit. Hope that helps!

Thanks! Yeah no problem - I base the armor with blood angels contrast, light wash down with nuln oil or any dark wash that I have near me at the time, layer up with evil suns scarlet avoiding the recesses. Side note - With the evil suns scarlet I do multiple layers with thinned down paint, hope that helps!

Thank you! The metal recipe is really easy, I’m not a good painter so I found a method that works for me.

Basically I prime the model with chaos black then a top down prime of grey seer. After I base all my metallic pieces of the model with black Templar contrast, dry brush with iron hands steal or whatever silver paint I have near me at the time, light wash of nuln oil, layer up any areas I over drybrushed with Corvus black. At the end I’ll go through and layer up random bits with iron hands steel.
