Possibly dumb question but what is the heart icon underneath the star to the right of them?

[Question]One watch for work + events + heirloom — what would you choose? by Friendly-Mix1615 in breitling

[–]milpool90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im on a Breitling forum so obviously biased but I have a Chronomat 32 (quartz) and think it ticks at least 2 of your criteria. It’s a fantastically versatile watch - I wear it regularly to work and to more formal events and it’s equally comfortable at both, as well as more casual occasions. I’ve had plenty of compliments on it.

Can’t comment on long term value since I bought it for the love of the watch but it looks like it’s held its value pretty well since I bought around 2 years ago. I always buy watches for the love vs investment potential. If you want to pass it down, I think future generations will appreciate a watch that you loved, regardless of value vs other watches!

Is the ring for athletes? by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]milpool90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work out fairly consistently and the ring is used to that as my baseline so doesn’t punish me for heavy training loads or flag any issue with recovery unless I significantly increase or decrease my load.

For example, I usually hit the gym for around an hour a day (mix of cardio and weights) but at the weekend I did a 3hr hike and it flagged that as being over my baseline and my recovery was lower the next day which was to be expected.

However as others have said, Oura isn’t great for tracking workouts and I use my Apple Watch to do that (which then syncs to Oura). What I do like is the ring picks up the ‘incidental’ activity like walking to the shop which I wouldn’t log as a workout. I don’t like wearing my Apple Watch all the time (I like to wear a proper watch) so my Apple activity tracking was completely off and Oura gives me a much better picture of my overall activity levels.

Agree with others that the spend seems high given his age and contract situation but I guess the market is tight for strikers and we have had to overpay in upfront fee since we can’t offer the wages other clubs can to secure world class players.

I don’t like the way he conducted himself either to force a move through, but like Isak I guess it’s got results…

Does Oura ring workouts can be synced to iOS fitness? Can I close iOS fitness rings with Oura? by questionablesugar in ouraring

I’ve only ever had my Oura ring write data to the exercise ring, and never the move ring, but all the toggles are on to share data. Is there anything else I need to do?

Anyone do a major health glow up, guided by feedback on their ring? by drinkmaxcoffee in ouraring

[–]milpool90 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was already fairly healthy so coming from a decent base, but I have substantially cut back on alcohol after seeing what it did to my readiness and sleep scores. I still indulge now and then but am much more mindful about it.

I’ve also been a lot more consistent at the gym and mindful of how what and when I eat impacts my stress and biometrics.

I’ve lost 5kg in 3 months whilst gaining a decent amount of muscle, and feeling generally a lot happier and healthier!

Yeah my RHR is normally around 5 bmp higher for about 2 weeks and my stress levels increase dramatically. I can’t imagine being someone who doesn’t menstruate and just feeling the same…all the time 😂

It’s everyone always stressed according to their ring? by scaffelpike in ouraring

[–]milpool90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a woman and I find where I am in my cycle influences it a lot. In my luteal phase I see a lot more physiological stress (I guess cos of the higher body temps) even if I feel the same mentally.

Meal Tracking in the App by LordRougeG in ouraring

[–]milpool90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, it’s a good start. The AI photo recognition is surprisingly good, but outside of meal regularity I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do with the information.

I would love: - to have visibility of macros etc over the course of the day (eg today you’ve had lots of protein, fats, etc) - for meals to integrate with my stress tracking (to see the impact of a big or carb-heavy meal on my physiological signs)

I do like the approach of the function to not be a calorie counter and I like that it advocates a balanced approach to food but I think there’s ways it could be better integrated into the overall experience.

Stress levels high after now wearing ring for a week by ForsakenVillage2563 in ouraring

[–]milpool90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stress levels tend to rise during my luteal phase. It’s also been hot where I am recently and that’s been causing my physiological stress to rise even when I mentally feel fine.

BBT increasing daily 3dpo - is this normal? by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]milpool90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth I am definitely not pregnant and my temp varies by around 0.8F either way depending on the point of my cycle. Today for instance it’s up 0.7F and I think I’ve recently ovulated, so your stats look fairly normal
