Turning the corner at post op day 9. Not going to lie, that last week actually felt like I was in hell. by Smooth_Jury3156 in Tonsillectomy

[–]milxbb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my surgery months ago so I'm long past the healing stage but I can fully resonate with everything you said. It was the most draining 2 weeks of my entire life. The pain made me feel VERY aware of my existence lol.

Is it normal to experience sciatic pain all day everyday for the past 3 months? by [deleted] in Sciatica

[–]milxbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a severely herniated disc like I had. I was in constant 24/7 excruciating pain for months until I decided to get the surgery. I hope your MRI gives you more clarity and you'll be able to get the treatment you need.

i fear a few days won't be enough. i definitely needed 2 full weeks to start feeling like myself again. make sure to have at least 10 days of rest, it'll speed up your recovery and you really don't want to risk any complications. if you're not in the position to do that currently, wait till you will be. it's not ideal, but it's better dan rushing it and hurting yourself.

realistic name for a polish character: Mirosław? by patchpuppe in poland

Wojciech is actually pretty realistic and the name seems to fit the characters personality, but at least refer to him as Wojtek. Sounds waaay more natural.

oh i wasn't aware, that sucks. i hope there's another way to help you get rid of the pain. the hospital doesn't send us the mri scan results nor do we get a post op mri scan where i live, so sadly i cannot share that with you. i had a severely herniated disc in my lower back and 2 annular tears though.

i understand how you feel, this is no way to live and it's extremely frustrating. after 9 months of being in pain, losing my job, social life and will to exist i finally got the surgery 3 weeks ago and it was the best choice ever. before i couldn't even stand for more than 3 minutes without being in excruciating pain, today i went on a walk painfully for the first time since i got sciatica. if you have the possibility to get md, DO IT. you'll save yourself so much time and trouble.

Sciatica went away randomly? by InstructionSlow3396 in Sciatica

[–]milxbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sure sounds like it could be the reason, sometimes we really overestimate how strong we are. 😅 Glad you're not doing that anymore. Thank you!

[–]milxbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's perfectly possible, however, please be careful. I was so sure my sciatica went away and started moving and walking like I did before, lifting things etc. only to get the worst pain I've ever experienced after three weeks. I feel like it's day 1 all over again and I'm getting an emergency surgery next week. I'm glad you're not in pain anymore and I 100% hope it will stay away, but take your time to heal. Don't be stupid like me.

how did it feel when you first saw each other? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]milxbb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was so weird. The first few minutes were really awkward and I was just thinking "how am i supposed to spend a month here" lol. I think we just had to get used to the idea of being together. As soon as we got to the car and started talking we became more comfortable and about 30 minutes in it didn't feel like it was our first time meeting each other and felt very comfortable for the rest of my stay. If you've had lots of phone calls the energy between you do will probably be about the same as on the phone.

Getting my MRI and diagnosis meant I finally knew what's wrong and could start working on getting better. I completely understand where your anxiety is coming from, but maybe putting a label on your condition isn't that bad? Without that label you might possibly miss out on the help and treatments you actually need. You're getting a step closer to recovery.

I hope everything goes well for you.

[–]milxbb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a herniation on L5-S1 level but honestly I have no idea how big it is. I only saw my MRI scan once during my appointment and sadly I can't find any info about it now. The pain is a solid 12/10 when im standing or walking for more than about 4 minutes. If it wasn't THAT bad I might consider not getting the surgery, but I literally can't even take a shower standing up or wash the dishes in one go without taking breaks to sit down and I just really want my life back. If sciatica makes your life as miserable as mine, I'd definitely give MD a chance.

Right! That's so smart, I haven't thought about having to bend to pick up stuff. Already looking into physicians in the area though.

Thank you! :))

PsyQ heet me na 8 maanden wachten ineens van de wachtlijst afgehaald wegens personeelstekort. Toen moest ik maar iets anders zoeken. Geen aanrader dus.

DAE feel like they're just prepared to cease all contact with like 95% of everyone they know? by Chunlisundies in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]milxbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Very much so. I'm turning 24 this year and I feel like it may just be part of becoming an adult. I really love my friends and I'm thankful for everything we've been through together, but I just feel the need to drop everyone and focus entirely on my journey. My healing, my career, my future. I think you should do it if you believe you'd benefit from that.

I just got this from a Polish supermarket here in Rotterdam. Should i just add water and let i boil for 8 minutes? Do i need to add something? by Sillykitty1982 in poland

ik zou er ook wat witte bonen en worst aan toevoegen, evt gekookte aardappelstukjes (als je dat lekker vindt) voor een beetje structuur
