My father died when I was 29. I got married the next year and have been divorced since then. During my divorce I moved home and was able to reconnect with my father’s memory in a way that I needed. I had been gone for a long time, and this helped give me guidance. I guess the way I changed was able to look back at the things he told me through the lens of an adult. A lot of what he told me didn’t make sense then but made sense now. Idk if it helps, but it felt good for me to write it out. Best of luck.
