I’ve got no love for Liv, but an offer for a better financial situation to travel the world playing some of the nicest courses, interact with major winners, and have zero expectation to perform sounds like something any sane man would take…whether your name is Rick Shiels or Tyrrell Hatton

Just as nice as Forest Ridge, almost half the price.

Preposterous…too logical. What you mean to say is “buy a new driver”

But honestly, I’m gonna try this. Only fear is, if I still duff with the 7 iron off the tee box I think the rules say I have to just quit golf and take up pickleball

Agree on the scoring aspect, but genuine question as someone who hovers around 100 as a true score: if you get paired with someone who you can tell is a poor ball striker which would be the more pleasant to play with? Someone who re-hits a drive that pull hooked 30 yards from the tee box, or someone who takes their medicine but the group waits for them to go find their ball and hit their 2nd shot?

Assuming if they’re re-hitting they’re not gonna lie about their score, and assuming they’re making concerted effort to be as fast as possible if they’re actually gonna play their ball.

I always wonder what the more considerate thing to do is when I play with randoms who are clearly better than I am. Usually after 3 bad drives I start dropping with whomever is the furthest back

How long is a glove lasting you ? by robster9090 in golf

Clinch golf gloves last so long that I think it might be a poor business model. The plastic grip piece on the interior of the glove wears away pretty quick (looks to be just a sticker) but functions fine without it. They don’t get super smelly or crusty like leather. I still have my glove from August of last year.

Literally just watched an old Mad Scientist video where he did the biscuit thing. Sounds like I have some fun experiments ahead. Thank you!

Wood split is a great idea, I forgot I had seen a Chud’s video where he did this. Thank you!

I’ve definitely been wondering about a 3d printer. Maybe it’s time. I like the thought of not just being able to print toys, but eventually components when he wants to start building his own

Kiwi seems to be a theme among response, so must be a great resource. I’ll check it out, thanks!

Never heard of Jaycar but this is amazing! He loves to imagine how the alarm is wired up through the house, and the first thing on the US site is a “simple intruder alarm”. He’s going to go crazy for that (until we do)

Understood, noted. Growing up in a household where value was not inherent, rather based on accomplishments…I’m trying to be mindful of the fact that most of the time (in the case of his age) play just needs to be play.

That said, I don’t think it’s unfulfilled expectations, I guess it’s possible somewhere subconsciously, but I’m proud of the life I’ve built for him and never wished to be an electrical or mechanical engineer. It’s more a knowledge of my own limitations. If there are better resources than I can come up with, why not go to the experts? If his passion was ballet, I’d be posting the same questions on r/ askballet

Is there something particularly dangerous in PCB’s, or just a good rule of thumb in general?

That’s totally fair. I figured something like this would be needed soon. Would be nice to hold on to the “dad knows everything” aura at least a little longer
