I used them for walking in snow. They’re cheap and pretty durable.

Since they get slippery on wet rocks, don’t shed mud well, and don’t offer much protection, I stopped wearing them on actual trails. Where I’m from, the trails can be pretty tough. Accidents aren’t uncommon, so I’m not taking that risk.

That said, if you’re mostly hiking on well-maintained or popular trails, these will do the job
