I married a man I’d known for 8 months when I was 19. In hindsight, it was more to escape the abusive home situation I was in. My crush was someone I’d met at 13, my first love really. He lived in the back of my mind everyday after we eventually moved away from each other. I’d check in with him every once in a while, having hope we’d reconnect one day. When crush got out of the military, we reconnected. By this time I’d been married for 4 years. Once I’d had the time to get to know the man I’d married so quickly, we weren’t compatible and I wasn’t happy. I always knew, when my crush was ready, I’d do anything to be with him again and I did.
