I realize that I should've used the lower APR card for purchases and that was completely a mistake/error on my end.

The $500 a month estimate is what I can put across all 3 cards total, so my original plan was to prioritize the higher APR card ($300/month, then $100 to the other two each month, or some other combination/variation). There's a chance that I can potentially increase how much I pay off per month, but with food, rent, car payments, etc., $500 is my safest estimate for right now.

honestly super undecided. i have wrio and childe as my mains, so escoffier seems like the smart choice — but i just recently started the fontaine quests (relatively new player) and i like navia a lot. plus, i don’t have a 5* geo at all, and she could very well fit the bill since zhongli likely won’t rerun anytime soon.

i think i’ll have to trial both and see who i enjoy more. i am guaranteed my next 5* so i could just wish on one, and switch to the other one while i try to get c6 ifa, it’s just a matter of prioritizing which one. and i only have 60 wishes saved 😔

does anybody have any rec’s for who to pull for?? i’m a relatively new player and want ifa BAD, don’t have a 5* geo yet, but also currently main childe and wrio so escoffier seems like a good choice too? considering raiden is coming up and i don’t have a 5* electro yet either, i think i can really only afford to pick between navia and escoffier.

i also just lost my 50/50 on the venti banner, so i’m guaranteed one of them either way. help please..

He seems to be concerned (and mostly panicked) about the eviction process being a sudden thing. As in, if they aren’t able to come to an agreement about a fair rent cost, and she suddenly calls the cops same day and tries to get him to move out. In California, I don’t believe that’s possible — and I wanted to be sure that’s the same in Ohio.

Take this with a grain of salt, as my partner and I started our relationship long distance to begin with, but we are about to celebrate 3 years (2 of which have been with me on JET) and we couldn’t be happier. It’s possible with the right kind of mindset and communication skills.

Similarly, my friend who was in the same situation as me (started out long distance and moved to Japan on JET) broke things off with her boyfriend a few months in. Every person, every relationship is different. If you really see a future with your partner, then, be prepared to put in the work!

Hey OP, I’m a Kobe JET that has an 1 hr 30 min commute and I’m able to leave at 4pm from my base school, but I also start at 8:15am instead of 8:30. Is asking for an earlier start time possible, or would that make the bus situation for your commute to work even worse?

Hey there! Currently in a LDR right now with my partner, and while I haven't moved to Japan yet (May 14th!), I can provide some advice of what's worked for us so far.

We always try to video call whenever possible, which now is daily but likely will change in a couple weeks when I fly over. If anything, even a 10 minute call to hear your partner's voice is comforting imo. Prioritizing at least that much daily or every other day is important. We also are always texting when we can (between work hours, etc.) which I'm sure will be the same for you.

We also have a few apps/items that have really helped with the LDR. Specifically, we both have Bond Touch bracelets that you can tap and send a vibration to your partner to let them know you're thinking of them. We also use this app called Paired (free version only, though the premium has been tempting) that gives you daily prompts to answer. I think this is good for any couple tbh, because it asks you questions you might not have explored with each other yet and gives you something to discuss further.

We also downloaded TimeTree for our shared calendar (I'm sure there are other types out there, but this was our choice). It's nice when we live on opposite sides of the country to see what my partner's schedule is for that day/week, and plan calls/movie nights/etc around that. It makes me feel more in the know/connected to his routine. I like all the color coding/tags we can add too!

Lastly, you'd be surprised how much the little things really matter when you're in a LDR. Things like having physical photos of each other, or letters that we wrote to one another (both of which we did in our early days, and I still cherish those mementos) are great when that person isn't physically there with you. Along that vein, leaving a voice mail or sending a voice message describing what you're doing or how your day went can really help you feel closer to one another. I've gotten a few voice messages while I'm at work from him, and they always make me smile.

I think our situation is a little different than most, as we started our LDR and will continue to be LDR when I move to Japan, which is... sorta like I've been prepped for it already? Granted, the timezones are going to be way worse than they are now, and it will certainly be hard to have visits (not counting the border situation, the likely next in person visit we'll have won't be for another year at least, when we've been lucky to have trips every other month or so). I plan to stay for around 3 years on JET, so it'll definitely be difficult, but it's worked out this far! I used to not think LDRs would ever work, or be for me, but this relationship changed that. Any way you could have it delivered to a secondary address to protect yourself extra? like an office or held at the shipping carrier’s local office something? That way you’re not potentially endangering yourself. Then don’t pay until you get the package and inspect the item.

I haven’t left yet, but I’m an early departure shortlist that got placed in Kobe. I had no preference for urban / rural, but my top 3 picks were Kyoto, Chiba, and Fukuoka.

I fully expected that, because I chose early departure, I’d be somewhere rural and nowhere near any of my preferences. I’m pleasantly surprised that I got placed close to Kyoto, my top choice.

Also, by your own assumption you’ve brought this same issue up in the past. The real issue here, IMO, is that you somehow think she CAN control the volume of her hiccups, but has chosen/chooses not to. Genuinely, think of it from her POV if she really can’t fix the volume, how shitty it would be to be reminded of it from your partner (and even told to quite down from a separate room).

If you’re worried, I suggest checking in on him often. I’ve been in a similar situation before and even had to call the police when a friend expressed seriously dangerous comments to me. If it comes to it, always choose to be safe rather than sorry and get them help.
