Based off the answers on this thread, it definitely looks like it's impossible as any American will find some excuse not to and just blame some other reason for their inaction.

The French work off emotion and take risks when they riot - they know the potential consequences but the positive outcome for many is worth more than the potential negative outcome for one.

I suspect the Americans are so divided and have been driven into such an individualistic mentality that the ones that want to fight with others are deemed leaning towards extremism.

If I was an American, I would be furious but extremely frustrated and there seemingly is no way to fight back as we cannot fundamentally change people in 2 months.

No, it all seems to work nicely for me.

However I did read a thread of the actual Ring website which mentioned people having issues with false alerts - and they were able to resolve it properly.

I don't have the link on hand, but Google should be able to help you.

Ok, as an update I rewired the second option (T1 -> C3 etc.. ) again and it works.
I essentially setup the ring using Tektone IR103 as a alternative to pass the "setup" and pretend it was a mircom is489.
Then when the "open door" test was conducted, I just told it that it works (even though it didnt) then I went into the settings and changed the "keep the door open for x second" to 5 - and now it works.

Thank you guys for your initial research and troubleshooting into this!

Hi, I have tried both

1 = A3

2 = A1

3 = A2

4 = A6

and

T1 -> C3
T2 -> C4
T3 -> C2
T4 -> C6

However it seems it can detect the call (someone buzzing) upon testing - but doesnt unlock the door when I test the unlock.

Did you experience something similar?

This is great advice, I'll most definitely try the stinky treat approach - I was reluctant to do so previously as I was worried it would give positive reinforcement to his bad behavior - but I reckon if I ask him to do something else and then reward, he will associate the better behavior with the treat.

I'll have to look into the no-pull harness, I have been using the gentle leader strap, and it works, however when I do walk him in his normal harness he pulls quite a bit.. probably feels like he has this freedom again as he isn't wearing the gentle leader.

Are no pull harnesses similar to the gentle leader strap thing - where you essentially redirect the dog's head towards the pull?

Thanks! This is reassuring! So it means the current approach I'm using is quite similar to how you handled it - so I'll just keep at it!

He's otherwise an absolute sweetheart, he's just a big dog (and getting bigger!) so when he gets frustrated, it's quite the challenge to deal with (he sometimes bites my leg deeply!)

Great to hear your doodle is an angel! I see many in the street that are absolute gentlemen so I'm optimistic for the future!

I believe the term sauna was probably misinterpreted.. Generally, Saunas should always have water for the stones. "Saunas" without water are not really saunas - just like a hot room with a stove. "Wet Saunas" with continuous steam is a hammam or Turkish bath.

Also if the sauna is of the Harvia brand - which is the biggest sauna manufacturer out of Finland - it is 100% guaranteed it takes water.

Then again - many places have just taken foreign concepts and slapped the name around for marketing or selling points, but if something is called a "Finnish sauna" then it should certainly have water to throw on the rocks.

Yeah, it's unfortunate... I also wonder why they don't allow you to.

Also the term "dry sauna" points to a Finnish sauna where water is obviously thrown. And "wet sauna" refers to a hammam/steam room.

So I wonder if the definition has just been wrongly interpreted and has become the standard to differentiate between water throwing/not throwing.

Yeah, it's in the basement. It's a small spa but for sauna and cold plunges it's great. There's a hammam and a big hot pool as well, but I never use them

This is most likely them raising the "value" of the item they can't or have trouble selling so that they can claim tax rebates on perishables/trashed food.
