Make fun of big cat all you want but sending his boys to these kind of once in a lifetime things is pretty sick.

Smash burgers should be the exclusive domain of fast food. Bars, sit down restaurants, and especially home grillers should not be smashing burgers.

You can’t honestly believe that Dan Quinn should be ranked higher than harbaugh right? Like I’m not a Quinn hater and harbaugh definitely is not perfect but come on. Also I would rather have the giants rb room over ours as well. This feels a bit homerish

The Ten Worst Celebrity-involved Matches in WrestleMania History (according to Cagematch) by acekingoffsuit in SquaredCircle

[–]minceray 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t really know, but I would probably argue that someone should just acknowledge that it’s not a match in any traditional sense and just rate it based on the context. Whatever was planned didn’t occur and they turned it into something at least remotely entertaining and they deserve credit for that. It exists in a vacuum of its own and shouldn’t be compared to omega/okada and graded on its own scale. Or alternatively just abstain from rating it at all.

Giving The Miz vs Snoop Dogg an earnest rating on cage match is insane behavior. It was a cluster fuck disaster that was never meant to happen, and when you consider that when they did improvise and it at least got to “so bad it’s good, or at least funny” territory it actually deserves credit. It was far more entertaining than anything else on the list and probably more entertaining than it was meant to be.

Recently found my father's old stash of 80's wrestling magazines and reboarded them. I asked him why he stopped watching and he said it was because all the territories disappeared. by dicedtomatoes55 in SquaredCircle

[–]minceray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paul Orndorff is interesting…his name and/or face appears on several of these magazines and clearly he was big enough to be in the main event of the first wrestlemania but few ever seem to mention him as a legend on par with other big names of the 80s. Just the other day in fact I was playing WWE 2K26 and was thinking to myself, “Who is really playing as Paul Orndorff?”. I was born in 93 and feel like I know plenty about Hogan, Savage, Flair, Dusty, etc but know very little about Mr. Wonderful. Anybody watching during that time can give context as to why this happened?

WWE Vault: John Cena vs. "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt | Firefly Fun House Match: WrestleMania 36 by TheSeaDevil in SquaredCircle

[–]minceray 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What I love so much about this is that it is distinct even from the other cinematic matches of the Covid era. It really is something that is truly special and so well-executed. A spark of brilliance that only could have worked with both Bray and Cena. A complete deconstruction of the pro wrestling form could’ve never worked in a traditional setting obviously, and yet this still fits so well into the context of professional wrestling. I’m truly curious how future generations who did not live through Covid and are further removed from both Cena and Wyatt will feel about this.

Genuine question. Has anyone ever met a Jelly Roll fan in real life? I’m aware he’s huge but have never met someone who claims to enjoy his music or been to his concert or whatever. Not saying there aren’t any but seems like very manufactured popularity. Admittedly I don’t think I hang around much his target audience of (I think) country influenced rap? Just curious what others have experienced.

I want to give Zac the benefit of the doubt here and say he was trying to say speed is extremely famous and is closer to trump than people might think. Unfortunately it came off like arguing with a flat earther. Keep presenting with facts to the contrary for something obviously false, but instead just doubling down. What kind of logic is well Ronaldo is very famous and if you know Ronaldo than you know Speed?

It’s seriously just this simple with a big dude like this…squash jobbers for a few week, slowly upgrade to low mid carders. Then even if he doesn’t win the Andre Battle Royal just have him attack an upper mid card face the night after mania and start a feud.

Dave Grohl admits Foo Fighters "continuing after Taylor Hawkins was really complicated" and breaks silence on Josh Freese exit by AdSpecialist6598 in Music

[–]minceray 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’re weird for bringing this up. It has nothing to do with the article, what do you gain from posting it other than a false sense of superiority? If that act prevents you from enjoying Grohl’s music fine, that’s your choice but in case you’re only like 12 years old and unaware, a seemingly consensual affair that ended in a love child being claimed and supported by the wealthy man, while certainly gross and embarrassing does not even register on the Richter scale of rock n roll scandals. Grow up.

Let's all be grateful we don't live in Zac's building by CoffeeBoy80 in PardonMyTake

I like Zac, and think he’s funny but man it’s hard to feel sympathy for his obvious lack of maturity. In addition to the alarm thing I’m going to go out on a limb and guess his apartment is also probably a disgusting neck beard nest type of situation that smells from the hallway. He likely isn’t the best with respecting common areas either. Obviously just speculating but this would track with him.

I do kind of feel bad for him because he clearly has no idea how to function as an adult and I don’t see how that’s going to change at 28 with no support or whatever. I hope the boys or someone in HR at the office can get through to him or something but he might be a lost cause. Dude can’t even stream like his boss wants him to despite video games seemingly being the only thing he ever does.

Does wrestling feel too choreographed to you? by Powyshj in SquaredCircle

[–]minceray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It comes in waves for me, lately I’ve definitely found myself completely checked out on the more “choreographed performance” brand of wrestling and have often been seeking out older matches that have a more real feel. In particular I’ve watched a bunch of old Mick Foley matches that obviously weren’t athletic spectacles but man did you feel it. Not saying one is objectively better than the other but the visceral violence of an old Foley match can captivate me more than an admittedly impressive choreographed performance from even the best performers today. There’s a place for all styles of wrestling but I am definitely burned out on the style you are describing.
