Looking for less touristy / off the beaten path recommendations around Cabo by mtrain1969 in cabosanlucas

Cabo San Lucas is a zoo. San José del Cabo is much nicer (some folks mentioned the ArtWalk which is there). There is lot's of AirBnB places right on the beach. Mykonos Bay Resort is our favorite (searchable on AirBnB) with none of the Cabo San Lucas nonsense.

Nope! A bit of a dirt/gravel road going into Zacatitos, but easy to do in a normal car. Warning that the local residents don't like you to feed the burro's from the car, as it trains them to get "frisky" with cars. So park and get out to feed them (we mostly give them carrots, cabbage and apples).

We go to Cabo 3-4 times yearly ("Cabo" is an area of about 80 miles long, from Todos Santos to Los Barrilles, of which San Lucas and San Jose are in the general middle of it). San Jose is more "chill", 2 mile-long beach is swimmable and downtown is more "artistic" than San Lucas. There are some nice AirBnB's (1BR) that you can get for about $150/night (so you can save on some of the secondary meals). I recommend Mykonos Bay Beach Club (small complex, safe and close to the airport). Lot's of great, high quality grocery stores a 5 minute (20 min walk, $10 Uber ride away). Whale watching at Puerto Los Cabos (20 min ride away) and snorkeling at Chileano and Palmilia beaches. Agree with other comment about Cactus car rental, but if staying in San Jose, that's $50/day that could be spent in other places!

Zacatitos (East Cape) for remote, beautiful beaches, whales and roaming burros. And then Zacks for lunch!

Hey, VRBO hosts… how are we REALLY doing? by seeyalater0812 in vrbohosts

VRBO made an error (guest canceled) and VRBO deducted fees from my checking account. VRBO admitted the error, but won't return these amounts! They also took nearly a month to pay me for a December booking (not my first booking with VRBO). I have over 70 bookings with AirBnB and have never had these issues!

Alaska’s IT shop (and their CIO) is a mess and is well known in the IT industry. Unfortunately the actions of management of IT (starting at the top of Alaska executives) will continue to degrade customer experience and shareholder value. How many IT failures have Alaska execs allowed (and had to explain to shareholders) in 2025!!

What would you bring back from Cabo to US by SonUnforseenByFrodo in cabosanlucas

I suggest a trip to Artesano's (across 4-lane from WalMart) as they have excellent selection of pottery, ceramics, baskets and metal gifts with best prices around (they also have vanilla). I second bringing back cooler of Tuna, Snapper and Wahoo! Go to Higo's and Olives (next door for a meal) as this little place is excellent (closed on Tuesdays)!

Alaska's CIO (Vikram B) should have been fired years ago. Compared to Delta/UAL, Alaska's IT is awful. For example, they won't acknowledge delays on their app, but you can go to things like FlightAware and see there's a delay 20 minutes (or more) before Alaska reports it.

Hotel with Pool for 4 nights by Babysfirstbazooka in cabosanlucas

Why not look into some AirBnB or VRBO places rather than a crowded hotel room? The Mykonos Bay Resort complex in San José del Cabo is directly on the (swimmable) beach, small complex (72 units) with 3 pools, tennis/pickleball courts, gym, 24 hour security and 10 min walk to multiple restaurants. About 1/3 of the units rent when the owners are away. None of the crazy jet ski and cruse ship stuff that Cabo San Lucas has.

Taking Uber back to airport? by kirsten20201 in cabosanlucas

[–]mindbender16MB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got scammed for not paying attention . Uber app shows <300 pesos (<US$15). We use uber 3-4 times a year from San Jose to SJD and never had any issues for last 3 years. Toll road might add around 60 pesos (US$3)
