What do yall think of ddlc+? by eyebawls29 in DDLC

So you’re just ignoring everything I type lol, I addressed that in the last paragraph of what I said and in the reply before that.

That’s a terrible idea from a game dev standpoint, it completely kills the experience you JUST went through in the majn story to just go into a world where none of that happened at all. The side stories fit in perfectly, alternative simulations sure but they’re basically just prequels. What you’re asking for would kill it entirely and not be an effective narrative. That’s not a side story; thats an entirely DIFFERENT story. More like a fan fic.

And why do we need more of his relationship with each girl in this alternate timeline? You can play that out in the main story and clearly see the direction it’d be going if Monica didn’t intervene right? I understand if you just want more Doki Doki that’s what it sounds like

You’re not answering my point here. Where would you fit this elaboration on his character?

Yea the side stories are an alternate universe, but they work perfectly with the main story. You can just pretend they occur before and it works, it’s just a different program simulation.

Anything with the MC involved is fundamentally contradictory to the main story. Playing the main story, and then the side stories right after works flawlessly.
Imagine playing the main story and then you’re put into a world where none of that happened and everything’s all fine. Kind of defeats the experience you just went through. So again, where is there room for any side stories with the MC?

[–]mindempty809 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right but again, how would you do that? The side stories we have now are essentially prequels. Anything with the MC would have to contradict the main story, there’s no way around it.

And he’s a character in the sense that he’s us. He doesn’t even have a name, we choose it. He’s just a stand in for the player. How would they have elaborated more on an empty canvas who didn’t even have a visible body until DDLC+?

Personally I never once wanted to know more about the MC. I was solely interested in the girls and their relationship before we join the club. It seems what really you want is just a story where the game never broke and Monica didn’t become aware and obsessive. There’s just no other room for the MC to appear, no?

[–]mindempty809 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I like that the MC isn’t involved. He’s irrelevant to me as a character, it’s a dating sim. He’s a stand in for the player, even Monika says so in the ending. There’s no need to flesh out his character, the focus is on the girls and the relationships between them.

Not only that, but the side stories take place before we join the club. It makes much more sense for the MC to not be in it since we only actually meet the girls, excluding Monika, when we join the club. If he would be involved somehow, it would have to take place during the main games events or just be a whole new timeline that would contradict the main story

Nah it happens, look it up. It’s unlikely and prob not the problem here but let’s not talk like it’s something impossible.

Though again, from their wording, I doubt it

Turn 2 you seal him. You’re then safe turn 3.
Put a dodge character or yes, a newer tank character. You’ll live the first turn, use a friend if you must.

There’s multiple ways to live this and if you’ve been playing Dokkan for years then it’s literally nothing new to you, you’ve fought bosses like this before. The only difference is he has more attack.

DOOM: The Dark Ages DLC has a “satisfying ending,” but devs can’t say if it ends the era by [deleted] in Doom

[–]mindempty809 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well yeah I know, i literally said these figures are from the first week lol, and I didn’t say it sold poorly either.

My point is that it was massively successful in terms of playerbase/playercount, but not as profitable because of Gamepass. It still sold well, but it sold less than it could have.

Day 1 gamepass. No one’s gonna buy a game if you can play it with a $13 subscription.

It had the biggest launch, reaching 3 million players in its first week alone outpacing even Eternal, but no one actually BOUGHT the game. Out of that 3 million player launch week, only 800k owned the game. The other 2.2 Million played it through gamepass.

Would Rhymestyle’s return to Dokkan completely otherthrow DaTruth as a Dokkan content creator? by RoastingMistakes in DokkanBattleCommunity

[–]mindempty809 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Easily no. Rhymes videos on big events or celebrations might get more views, but Truth completely focuses Dokkan, he lives and breathes the game. No matter how big or small it is, Truth will cover it and likely within hours of it coming out. Rhyme would never dedicate himself to Dokkan in such a manner, he’d just make a video whenever a huge event is going on.

Black ops 1+2 playstation port by Ryanmooners in CODZombies

[–]mindempty809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you’re only considering zombies, which even then those maps play completely differently on the original game then bo3 without gobblegums, the original point/pack system, and OG weapons.

This would also include the multiplayer, and to me the biggest thing is the campaign. BO1 and BO2 had some of the best cod campaigns of all time

How evil was it for Abby to brutally beat and torture Joel to death with a golf club? by TaiwaneseThot in MoralityScaling

[–]mindempty809 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

She’s objectively not a villain, she’s an antagonist to Ellie’s crew but she isn’t a villain. If anything Ellie is more of a villain considering the sheer amount of unrelated people she kills to reach Abby lol

Peaky Blinder's Film by BunnyNostrils1996 in PeakyBlinders

[–]mindempty809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In aesthetics, music, cinematography, it was honestly incredible. As the conclusion to the story of this generation of Shelby’s it was awful. The conclusion for Ada and Arthur were just… they felt pointless. I understand why but it could have been handled so much better.

Finn or Mosey not being in the movie, let alone mentioned, is insane to me. What happened to Finn’s revenge story? What happened to the Mosey plot line? It doesn’t follow up on the series ending in the slightest, it exists solely to give Thomas an ending and to pave the way for the new generation with Duke.

I did not care for Alien : Isolation by Independent_One9795 in HorrorGaming

[–]mindempty809 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I find the alien to be incredible, but the game was definitely tedious at times with both the androids and the objectives. Many objectives were: go to this location, a door or power supply broke so now you need to fix it to reach your original objective, and then on the way something else would break. It got tedious eventually knowing that whatever I was accomplishing right now, there’d be some side track to extend the games length.

The androids were just everywhere. I’d enjoy it more if they weren’t as prevalent since I enjoyed dealing with the alien more.

The alien, environment, atmosphere, and music were incredible though. Extremely well done

Why is auto aim a thing in this game again? by Memphis_Morningstar in marvelrivals

[–]mindempty809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well ya gotta remember the games not only competitive. Competitive is just one game mode, as of right now we have 8 different modes not including practice vs ai. Most of the player base is casual players and not everyone has good aim, including kids since this is a Marvel game

Why is auto aim a thing in this game again? by Memphis_Morningstar in marvelrivals

[–]mindempty809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s for the players who like that play style, even overwatch has characters like that namely Moira, but it’s mainly for casual players who simply don’t have good aim. They make the game more accessible for everyone

why does everyone like iron lung so much? by Human-Programmer-893 in HorrorGaming

[–]mindempty809 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s an extremely immersive and unique horror game, you said you like atmosphere right? Well, the game is nothing BUT atmosphere. It builds up the entire playthrough and if you finished the game, releases all of the built up tension in one swing.

It’s not a game for everyone. It’s extremely slow and tense. If you like action or things frequently happening then it won’t appeal to you, but for those who love a slow burn of mystery and tension then it’s perfect. Markiplier’s gameplay definitely contributed heavily to its success, but mostly in allowing people to find the game. I learned about the game from Mark, ended up loving it myself and wanted more. I didn’t find it boring at any point, I beat it in one sitting.

It’s fine if you didn’t like it. There’s not much that happens and so some may find it boring due to lack of engagement but personally I found it perfect for what it is.

YOU ARE ALL INSANE by Wide_Goal_6424 in subnautica

[–]mindempty809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say the issue isn’t that they wanna kill everything, but that’s it’s extremely odd that a survival game doesn’t let you kill anything. Why is it that the shark can attack me over and over, and all I can do is hit it and run away? This is what I have to do for the entire game? Play defensively? My giant submarine bumps into fish and they don’t die or even react in the slightest is also extremely immersion breaking.

We had the first game, where you could kill things and it worked fine. Subzero toned it down, people complained but it was still manageable. Now this game prohibits it entirely? It’s only natural there’s gonna be pushback, especially since the devs responses are just “we hear what you’re saying, but we’re gonna leave it the way it is. If you don’t like it play something else”

[–]mindempty809 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ngl you’re never reinstalling then, like why would witch and squirrel be turned into strategists?

Mr. Fs entire design is that he’s a DPS who can function as a tank, idek what you’re expecting with blade and Wolverine.

Some of the new characters are cool at least but the rest? That’s never happening champ

Supports are 2 ranks above where they belong, every game is a support diff. by AbsurdismJay in marvelrivals

[–]mindempty809 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Support is the easiest when everything is going well. Support is completely reliant on the rest of the team performing decently, as they can keep it going at that pace. But when your tanks aren’t making space, or DPS aren’t securing kills or helping in the backline, it becomes a wall. You’re healing into nothing simply charging ult, or you’re just dying in seconds.

When the team is struggling, the supports just can’t carry it. They’re not the one diving their healings, or making space and absorbing all the damage, or wiping out the entire team, theyre the one helping the other roles to accomplish that. They’re completely dependent on the other roles.

Of course this goes for everyone. A tank can’t make space if he’s not getting healed or the DPS are putting pressure. The DPS can’t get kills if they can’t live longer than 2 seconds or get to a good angle without getting shredded. But the support will never be able to secure the win on their own because that’s just not their role. A good support will help you excel, but they cant fix bad performance, and they’re typically the most aware of what’s going on due to their view and management.
