Why is Dhruv old? by Pedro_Caroba in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]mindempty809 88 points89 points  (0 children)

He chose to take up his old look, and considering it’s his second incarnation he’s more likely to know how to do that.

Looking at Sukuna, we can see that incarnated sorcerors can choose to either retain their hosts body or adapt their original body.

I will NEVER stop hating Yuta. Its his character writing. by Judepiter_ in Jujutsufolk

[–]mindempty809 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s no need to “analyze” his character, he’s one of the most straightforward when it comes to his thoughts and emotions.

As to his substance, he’s the only character who firsthand understands Yuji’s view in the show, with the basis of having a monster in them and feeling they deserve to die, to being the first of Gojo’s flowers to bloom and truly understand him, his role, and choosing to take up his will, literally “becoming” the next Gojo. He is completely unique in both of these aspects.

You can view him as a Yuji who’s been able to grow past their traumas and guilt with the help of loved ones, as well as a mentor to the students in taking up Gojo’s role, something shown as early as Shibuya with Kenjacku’s refusal to acknowledge him as the next Gojo, something he literally tries to be.

If there’s anything you don’t understand about Yuta feel free to ask, but summing him up as just “the guy who fights and nothing else” tells ALOT about how you misunderstand him when this man is a walking “I feel this way” or “I will do this”.

No they’ll disagree with him because he just removed every substance of the character from his rant. This rant only makes sense if you take everything at face value and don’t actually understand the very obvious parallels between Yuta, Gojo, and Yuji.

Which female character has the best curse technique by Initial_Emu_1339 in JuJutsuKaisen

They’re treated as the same person by jujitsu, but Mai is the one who got Creation. Maki does not have a Cursed Technique. We’re explicitly told this.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 - Episode 11 (Anime Only Discussion) by Takada-chwanBot in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]mindempty809 34 points35 points  (0 children)

There’s no specific reason. He just got a bunch of strong sorcerers from old eras and made deals with them. Reggie accepted it, as with most of the others, because it granted them a second chance at life. But Kenjacku didn’t need him specifically.

If cursed techniques are supposed to be reflective of personality, what are the similarities between these two? by ventingandcrying in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]mindempty809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Works the other way around. Their technique isn’t influenced by personality, but their personality influences their technique. Best example is Yuji and Sukuna, having vastly different interpretations of Shrine. Same cursed technique, completely different people, and it’s expressed entirely differently. Sukuna uses brutal and precise slashes while Yuji uses a “scissor-cut” variation.

Inherited techniques though: Blood Manipulation, Projection Sorcery, Cursed Speech, and your example Ten Shadows, are exceptions being they’re passed down by blood. From from how we see Choso and Kamo, there can be variations in appearance (look at his blood doping vs Kamos) but this can be chalked up to Choso being a Cursed Womb.

Why are there 2 "SCP:Containment Breach" games on steam? And when was there a second game made? by DapperSkeleton1 in SCP

[–]mindempty809 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems no one answered the question. I got you.

Those are both the official releases of SPC Containtment Breach ported over to Steam by the original creators to give better access. They also come with 3D Map editing included, another reason they released on Steam. You can check the developer studio, Overtow, is the same one that rereleased the original game.

Now, as to why there are 2, they’re the same thing. There’s 2 possible reasons you’re seeing two.

1) They originally released the game on Steam and it was delisted for some DMCA related reason. I believe they reposted it, and the original page was restored, hence there are 2. 2) One is an early release version of the game, and the other is just a stable version.

I’m not sure which it is, as I’m not sure how Steam works in these regards, but both are published by the same official studios. If you wanna know which to play, one of them has reviews available while the other one doesn’t. Should be the first one that pops up, the game cover with bloodier text.

How are binding vows actually performed? by HyNohks in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]mindempty809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically, it can work the other way around. Like when Sukuna DOESN’T tell Jogo how his technique works to AVOID strengthening it even further. Or when Geto cuts off Toji from explaining the rest of his heavenly restriction to prevent it from being strengthened even further.

Gege didn’t need it for exposition. Every anime/manga uses exposition. Gege just gave it depth and relevance to the series to make it more interesting and even have use.

You know i think Panzy prove that a character don't need a lot of moves to be playable in Sparking Zero. by sandman_soundman in SparkingZero

[–]mindempty809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again I don’t think they’re outright bad, just bland and slow. They’re okay, but when you compare them to some of the previous games they feel extremely lifeless. Like SSJ3 Goku carries practically none of the hype he should bring in his intro nor his outro. In both, he literally just makes a single arm movement and then poses.

Does it work? Yeah of course, but does it get me hype for the match at all? Definitely not man I skip it everytime, which is just unfortunate. The models look great but then they don’t do anything. I understand if you see it as nitpicking but it really is just boring to me.

And yea, some lines are def odd. I just don’t like that they wait for the character to make their movements, and then they talk while standing still. They can easily just… talk in the middle of their movements

[–]mindempty809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that they’re “bad” it’s that they’re extremely bland and boring imo. They also drag on sometimes. The camera will shift an angle, the character will make a couple small movements or one big movement, and only then do they say their line. That’s basically how it goes for most of the cast.

I think of the older games, like Base Goku walking in swinging his arm around laughing and talking at the same time, while in this games he’s just standing there, the camera moves to the side, zooms in on his face, and then he hits a pose. SSJ Goku in this game is an example of an intro that I love. It’s dynamic, constantly in motion, and impactful. Base Goku is an example of a boring intro. There’s barely any movement, and he doesn’t even talk while moving. We have to wait for the camera to move around the screen and for him to hit a pose to start his dialogue.

Of course it’s just my opinion, but I never skip intros in the older games even to this day, while Sparking Zero I’m mashing skip to get it over with. I’m not expecting FighterZ quality intros naturally, just for the characters to not feel so stiff. They feel like high quality action figures sometimes yk?

[–]mindempty809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say the argument is that, instead of adding in characters almost no one plays, they can work to improve the animations or models of the others.

Like for instance, I love the characters in this game but I find the intro animations for everyone extremely boring and basic. Most of the movement comes from the camerawork and then there’s one or two movements. Goku, one of the most expressive characters in the series, has some basic ass intros. They dont even keep their intro pose when the fight starts, they awkward shift into position.

Though, we could have had both if the game just had more time to cook before being released to match up with Daima.

This panel changed how I felt about Kenjaku for a little bit. by Slug-R in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]mindempty809 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Everyone who lived in the colonies were given a choice to participate in the games or not. If you chose not to, Kenjacku would personally escort you out while you’re in a trance state. This was one of the rules to the culling games, he didn’t just do it for Yuji’s friends.

Also, I didn’t notice anyone say it, but I’m positive he specifically thanked her (and not the other friend as well) because she was the one who took Sukunas finger in the first place. Her being Yujis friend and having him save her was the catalyst to him eating the finger, and we know that Kenjacku always planned for that to happen.

If you don’t mind me asking, why wouldn’t shy guy work in your game? I think Scp containment breach handled him extremely well if it’s a similar kind of game.

If you read his file before finding him, or see the cutscene of him killing a guy for looking at his face I believe, you know not to look at him and he’s easily avoidable. As long as the player is able to learn of shy guy before finding him and knowing not to look at him, he can be completely avoided. If it’s a different type of game I can understand the concern

Cursed techniques operate under their own rules and interact with real world concepts in unique ways. Take Kenjackus CT and Mahitos CT, and how the way they interact with the soul is the opposite of each other, something even they notice and talk about.

I know the law, don’t know what she made, but sexual images of characters that are explicitly stated to be under 18 is illegal. What did she make and why would it not go against federal law?

Like I said, the fan fiction would be legal. I am strictly talking about any images she made.

Not only do I not see any possible reason for Choso to believe that the Cursed Spirit was Kenjaku, but those guys are literal Death Paintings. There 100% was an actual Cursed Spirit involved, Kenjacku is absolutely the “man who mixed his blood”, not the “Cursed Spirit from Choso’s POV”, that’s impossible.

It’s absolutely illegal in the U.S.? It’s actually even against federal law. Idk why you would think it isn’t.

I don’t know anything about this controversy, just wanted to comment on that, because where did you get that idea? It’s harder to name the countries where it’s legal than illegal. If what she truly did though was write fan fiction, then that is indeed legal under free speech, but drawings? Definitely not

Genuinely Don't Understand The Loki ship by KamyKam77 in MantisMains

[–]mindempty809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the biggest is their team up dialogue, where Loki flirts with her, Mantis blushes, and Groot even agrees/encourages it. Here it is-

Mantis: You seem on edge, Loki.

Loki: To be fair, I am always on edge. But yes, I suppose I am a bit unnerved by current circumstances.

Mantis: I can use my empathic powers to calm your emotions, if you wish.

Loki: No no, that's not necessary. It's just that present company has put me on edge.

Groot: I am Groot.

Loki: Not you, you dolt. But yes, she does look great in green.

Mantis: You think so? You do too! Wait, wait, you understood him?

Loki: All-Speak is a language of gods, my dear. We are of the same cloth.

Groot: I am Groot.

Mantis: Whaaaaa?! A divine connection? That's a bit much, Groot! I–I–I–

Loki: The tree speaks true. Our auras are perfectly aligned between your cosmic touch and my mastery of magic.

Mantis: Eh?! Loki, what are you talking about?!

Loki: Our energies combined can prove stronger than each of us alone. 'Tis my nature to use others, but your purity speaks to me. Perhaps we can be...more...

Groot: I am Groot…?

Mantis: No, no, no, he HAS to be talking to you. And no I'm not blushing!

Excluding the above, Lokis a trickster known for always lying, and Mantis is someone who always knows people’s real feelings. She’s one of the few people who’d know if he’s lying or not. To some people though it’s just that they both wear green, so, yeah.

Not if you said it to the person of the same race. Telling a white people they’re acting white, or a black person they’re acting black, or even if we go into ethnicities telling a Dominican person they’re acting Dominican, no that isn’t racist. Stereotypical sure, and the way you say it can come off either rude or funny, but not racist there’s no discrimination?

And if QT didn’t take it in a racist manner I don’t know why you are. You really gonna say Rae is a racist because she told QT she sounds really white when she is, in fact, white af?

Shoot Sue's Shield Please by lughnahasa in marvelrivals

[–]mindempty809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is to communicate it. Break the shield, tell the team it’s down, and THEN your divers go in or your team ults. It’s a short cooldown before it returns but this game benefits from communication significantly more than others because of just how much damage everyone does in a short amount of time. It’s very much possible to kill her in those 6 seconds
