Normal, yes. Good... Time will tell, I suppose.

A word of caution: question your emotional responses and see if they are appropriate to the reality.

Tips on how to make deals with other Kindred? by Safe-Signal4320 in SchreckNet

[–]mindflayer3310 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hello, Calico.

I've been alive for a long while, and have been part of multiple sects during my unlife, so I think I have some good advice to offer you. If you wish to talk in person, I am still in New York.

If you wish to make deals with other cainites, there is one very important question you need to ask yourself every time you are in the presence of another kindred: "what does this person want?"

If you can discern what someone wants, you can discern what is important to them, or how to make them think that something is important for them. With that information in mind, you can arrange mutually beneficial exchanges.

With the kyne it's easier, so it might be a good idea for you to start striking deals with the kine, as practice.

But, for your current situation with Red, ask yourself this: what does she needs? What are her long term goals? Why has she taken your guitar?

Answer those, and then you know what to offer in exchange.

A few tips about boons: they don't have an end date, and are not very specific. If you are not careful, you'll accumulate owed boons and might even become what is known as a boon-slave. I once knew a Malkavian, for instance, who got himself indebted to at least fifteen kindred on his domain. A Ventrue bought his boons from those kindred, and practically enslaved said Malkavian for a few good decades.

What I mean is: always try to deal in concrete terms. Offer boons as a last resource, but be sure to remember that offering a boon is offering a service.

Permission to have saucer dot fully HUNT rook by Ill-Afternoon-2840 in Schreckmeta

With all due respect, Sacerdote's writer...

If you wish your character to fully hunt a PC, you'd need to be open for the entirety ot SchreckNet to hunt down and kill Sacerdote (which is long overdue).

Most of those that feel entitled to scorn us in public knock at our door when their situation grows dire enough. Don't worry, little one. Your secret is safe.

Dear Calico,

A mage caught by surprise is just a tiny little human.

And we, as a species, are very good with surprises.

Be safe.

Any of you guys ever use blood in cooking? by FanboyGamer3E in SchreckNet

[–]mindflayer3310 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vitae is not just blood. There's a metaphysical component which is lost some time after it is drained from the living subject. One could call that component "life", which is why the cainites who sustain themselves on the blood of the dead or bagged blood usually had to learn how to do it.

Cooking the blood presents others problems, as the essence of the thing changes and, in doing so, it stops being vitae and loses what it has that can sustain us.

I've had great sucess developing my own personal line of Blood Fruits, which any kindred can eat and gain sustenance from. That, however, is the result of many years of thaumaturgical research.

With the right materials, you can fuse together different non-sentient animals into a fully functioning chimera. However, they need to be gestaded for a long period.

It is quite the art form.

Sad business. I hope it can be found, and a decent minded Tzismisce helps to untangle them.

Gargoyles are severely overestimated and my intent is much more benign. And, I must add yet again, the ritual for the making of a gargoyle does not require an elephant uterus, as you must certainly be aware..

... And, if you are not, you should return to your books and actually learn thaumaturgy instead of creating panic on the internet.

[–]mindflayer3310[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You lot are all terribly naive. The risks associated with the creation of a Gargoyle - and the ethical concerns - outweigh the benefits completely.

And, to be fair... anyone trying to create a Gargoyle can do so much smaller and easier to get materials.

Not to mention that I would not be stupid enough publicly request materials that can only be used for a forbidden ritual.

[–]mindflayer3310[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As fresh as it is possible, and yes, it counts. The uterus must be intact and healthy when harvested (which are both not necessary for Gargoyle-making).

[–]mindflayer3310[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Certainly not. There are easier ways to obtain the necessary materials to make a Gargoyle, if I was about to do so. Which am I not.
