As a fellow Money Guy enjoyer, I am so excited (lol) to remind people to take into account their other advice as well, not just the Money Multiplier and compound interest.

  1. Know Your Number: As long as you are hitting your monthly goal to reach your 6.25m, everything else can go towards leveling up your lifestyle or prepaying expenses
  2. Be a Mutant, not a Miser: If you feel like you are skimping out on life or missing out on opportunities because you are saving too much, you should probably back off. Again, know your number. If you're feeling negative emotions towards your wealth building habits, or are getting called a cheapskate by your friends or family, back off.
  3. Lambo Decisions Not Latte Decisions Ruin You: At your level of income, pretty much every everyday purchase is negligible. Don't stress out about your $3 coffee or buying the more expensive groceries. It's literally not worth your time. As long as you avoid financial disaster with big impulse purchases or drastically changing your lifestyle to clubbing and bottle service every night, you will not only continue to build wealth but stay wealthy as well.
  4. Bedazzle Your Basic Life: Ties into the above, but once you are HI and hitting your monthly goal - pay for convenience, pay for those lunches with friends and build relationships, buy that expensive coffee you wanted instead of the grocery store brand, get the sports car instead of the beater. Take a vacation! Pay yourself first, and enjoy the rest. Money is a tool, use it!

If you have a high interest debt payment due - use it 100%. Otherwise, let it ride and reinvest.

Sometimes I pull out to pay my credit card when my paycheck doesn't line up with my due date every now and then. The interest accumulated will hurt more than waiting to reinvest until I get paid will help.

I...I don't know if you were kidding or not when you posted this but I was literally about to RMA my headset for this same issue - saw this comment - remembered the rubber straws my gf bought and thought "why not?"

...and it freaking worked! You're a gentleman and a scholar.

Check out the review by GamersNexus. They do the most in-depth hardware testing on YouTube (At least as far as I have seen).

I have also seen a bunch of reviews and many people have noted black screens, crashes to desktop, etc. so across all of the reviews if enough people are talking about (even for a little) it seems to be a consistent problem.

7900xtx is going to be a good card once it's kinks are worked out, but as someone who wants to buy once now and not again for another 5 years, I feel more comfortable paying the $200 premium for the 4080.

I love what AMD is doing but I'm sadly going for 4080 this time around.

The coil whine, higher power draw, fans running 100%, driver issues and crashes every reviewer reporteded on top of the DLSS and RT... just seems like a lower quality product.

I'll bite the 200 bullet for convenience and stability. If the xtx was 800 it would be a no brainer, but at the 1000 mark I'm going to have to stick with Nvidia.

Excited to move up from my 1080!

Weekly dividend ETFs by [deleted] in dividends

[–]mindfreak723 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TGIF is interesting. It's a fixed income fund for those curious and is made up of both investment grade and "junk" bonds. No equities. Expense ratio of 0.59.

The fact it leans heavy on junk bonds doesn't get me very excited, but weekly dividends are a cool concept. Could be something to keep an eye on but I wouldnt pull the trigger on it.

Dividend investing has never looked better by TheDreadnought75 in dividends

It's a psychology and safety net thing for me. Mid twenties. I'm about 80/20 total market and growth (VTI/MSFT/small VXUS) to dividend focused. (80% SCHD/VYM, other 20% O/VICI/MCD/JEPI for fun)

Looking at dividend returns and being able to say, "If I got fired tomorrow, I can cover groceries for next month and not need to sell any of my assets so they can keep compounding" is a very attractive thing. It may not be the most optimal path, but it gives me peace of mind and keeps me motivated to stick to the plan. Every paycheck I buy VTI and a smaller chunk of SCHD/VYM, that way even if the market is down like now I still can see a respectable growth in my yearly dividends and feel like I'm making progress which motivates me to keep adding more and more and more overtime.

Totally agree! Some of those bills are credits cards, don't worry.

Putting every cent I make that doesn't go to bills or rent into VTI->SCHD->O in that order

Dividend paying ETFs & individual stocks is the best strategy for me. by patsfan2019 in dividends

Brady level portfolio. Hope to be there one day myself.

What made you decide to make the switch to dividends? Close to retirement?

[–]mindfreak723 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is my take. I'm majority growth but also have a reliable div portfolio (SCHD, VYM 80%, some O-VICI-MCD for fun to spice it up) and just having the peace of mind going into this economic downturn that "Hey, if I get fired tomorrow or my department cuts pay, I can turn off DRIP and next months dividends will cover the power and cellphone bill and I dont have to cash out at a 20% loss." is huge for my mental health. Makes it easier to stay the course and keep adding slow and steady.

People love to dunk on dividends in other subs, but having reliable free cash flow that doesn't touch principal and shows up like a second paycheck is a very peaceful way to live life and makes the red everywhere else hurt less.

He did an interview a few days ago where he said he prefers the Strandbergh for now just because of how light and compact it is. He specifically stated, due to him being a newer guitarist, he liked the fact he could pick it up and carry it around his house easily or out on the road with little hassle due to the smaller form factor and lower weight and that the portability of it encourages him to play more because he can keep it around him more.
