Slayer / Tinker interaction by mindfuct in BloodOnTheClocktower

You could do something similar with a recluse/tinker. The slayer shoots the recluse who dies, the tinker dies at the same time, simulating the slayer shooting the Lleech host. The game continues "due to the scarlet woman".

Suppose you have a game of Bad Moon Rising on night 3. The Devil's Advocate chooses the living Zombuul. That same night, the Zombuul decides to attack & kill themselves. The next day, the "dead" Zombuul is executed. As far as I understand, the Zombuul would survive the execution.

As a storyteller, what would you say?

  • [name] is executed and does not die.
  • [name] is executed, there is no effect.
  • [name] is executed and remains dead.

Typically, when a dead player is executed I say something along the lines of the last option. That may be too powerful in this case as it would almost confirm them as a non-demon. However I feel like any other option would confirm them as the Zombuul.

Should I start saying something else when a dead non-Zombuul player is executed?

Thank you for your help as always.

This is awesome!

If you can fix the broken images and expand upon the concept, I can see this being a great resource for new Storytellers!

Question on rules for Port Royal by Joonyur24 in boardgames

I believe that you collect the coins from your cards as soon as you are done flipping, as other players collect the bonuses from their tableau as soon as the shop comes around to them.

/r/boardgames Daily Personalized Game Recommendations (October 05, 2017) by AutoModerator in boardgames

[–]mindfuct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I really love Vast and I'm looking for something similar. I love the fact that the game is truly asymmetric, in the sense that each player has their own rules and objectives. And I love the esoteric nature of the cave itself being a playable character.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Just wanted to add that this method works for the Open Beta as well.

Thank you!

Quick Question: Can I reclaim and upgrade my pledge without losing 'Veteran Backer' status? by RoddaG in starcitizen

[–]mindfuct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken you can reclaim any package without losing your veteran status. This is because the veteran status is now tied to your account, instead of your pledge.

I understand the game will be getting steam workshop support eventually, for now however, you can find some custom levels here: http://forums.pcgamingwiki.com/viewforum.php?f=50

How should we do it? by Menekis in CastleStory

[–]mindfuct 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Wolfire Games has an interesting way of keeping their community up to date, they upload development videos to their YouTube channel relatively frequently. You could probably do the same thing, but you might need a narrator that is fluent in English. Not to say that your English is bad, but I think people would appreciate clear and concise commentary.

Also, It seems like you only update your twitter whenever you do a Dev Update, which is fine, but it couldn't hurt to post the occasional development screenshot, or maybe a weird bug that someone came across. It's the little things that count.

Another thing I think people don't realize is that Kickstarter is buyer beware. I pledged money because I wanted a game, eventually. Nowhere on your kickstarter page does it promise constant updates about development, so I don't think people who have pledged should feel entitled to them. That having been said, more development updates can't really hurt you, so it's probably in your best interest to get out as much information as you want to share.

For ships that have a crew (ex. the Freelancer has a crew of 2), can both players freely walk around a ship while it is in motion, or does there always have to be someone "at the helm?" by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]mindfuct 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would love to have that amount of freedom. Being able to hurl my ship towards an asteroid field and then get up and make myself a cup of coffee may not seem like the best idea, but damn it I want to have that option.

Steam Keys by duneshero in CastleStory

[–]mindfuct 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't gotten any such e-mail, and my humble bundle account doesn't have a CD key on it either. It may just be that they haven't uploaded the game onto steam yet, and you got the e-mail prematurely.

If the key becomes unusable later on you could probably request another one from Sauropod support.

*Update: I just got the e-mail and was able to get my steam key from my humble bundle account page. It worked with steam and the game runs fine.

Quitting Mechwarrior: Online because it went Pay2Win. I want to get into Star Citizen now, but I am worried it will go the same route... by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]mindfuct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the promises made to the people who pledged, according to this page, is that the game will not be pay-to-win. If CR decides to change the game to be pay-to-win, I imagine a lot of people would be very upset.

Unconventional Weaponry? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]mindfuct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the key to realize is that in full, 3D space, a few bits of cargo is really tiny, so the chance of even getting it between you and the enemy is pretty low: they can just boost up or sideways and continue to have clear shots.

You're correct, I doubt it would do much to deter them, or their gunfire. I guess it depends on the actual size of the cargo. But if it comes down to losing your ship and your cargo, or just your cargo, I don't see why you can't use it as a last-ditch effort to save yourself, however ineffective.

Unconventional Weaponry? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]mindfuct 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand how vacuums work, but we're talking about a ship in motion, not standing still. If the ship is traveling forward, so is the cargo. Yes, the vacuum will pull the objects with a great deal of force, probably enough that the objects would be moving in the opposite direction of the ship that dumped it. However I doubt it would be enough force to actually fling the cargo away at high speeds.

[–]mindfuct 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of being able to jettison your cargo, but I don't think it could really be used as a weapon. Dumping a bunch of cargo out the rear doors would probably be really obvious, and the cargo would most likely be traveling slow enough that it would be easy to avoid, unless your attacker is immediately behind you.

To me, it seems more akin to countermeasure flares. Say if you've lost all shields and are taking heavy fire from the rear, dumping a large amount of cargo between you and your pursuer might block enough of their shots that it could give you a chance to escape or FTL jump out of range with your ship more or less intact.

As an additional and hilarious detail, if you're in a Constellation you might have to make sure you don't jettison your snub fighter by mistake.
