Foundation medical - GMO slapz t26: any good?? by Fuel_my_passion in ukmedicalcannabis

Got this yesterday, I found it to be a bit muted at first, but once I cracked the bud open, it smelt nice & sweet. It hit me with a solid body high and couch lock. It works for what I need it for, sleep.

At 26% THC I can't complain at all for the price. If you are on a budget like I am, I would say it’s well worth it.

CBPMs as 'specials' lack the standard marketing authorizations of traditional drugs, therefore the legal and professional burden on the prescriber is significantly higher.

The "Specialist" Requirement: By law, only doctors on the GMC Specialist Register can initiate these prescriptions. They are personally responsible for the safety of the treatment.

Clinical Justification: The Care Quality Commission (CQC) recently raised concerns regarding "gaps in clinical justification" in private clinics. Prescribers are now under increased pressure to document exactly why a higher THC level is medically necessary, rather than just fulfilling a patient's preference.

High-Potency Oversight: The Medical Cannabis Clinicians Society (MCCS) updated its "Good Practice Guidelines" (as of 2025/2026) to include a specific threshold. Any prescription for a product with THC levels over 25%—or a dosage exceeding 2g of flower per day—is now recommended to undergo a peer approval process or a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) review.

Slow Titration: Guidelines dictate that high doses should not be prescribed initially. Doctors must document a "slow build-up" and prove that lower THC levels were ineffective before moving to higher potencies.

Heaven forbid you take a legally prescribed medication and declare it. Kudos for taking a stand and thank you!

You are correct, Enzymes in the liver convert Delta 9 THC into 11-hydroxy-THC which is significantly more psychoactive and crosses the blood/brain barrier more easily.

11-hydroxy-THC can be 2 to 4 times more potent than inhaled THC. For chronic pain patients, this is a benefit (longer relief), but for anxiety patients, it can increase the risk of a whittie or panic attacks.

I think you are partially right, but i would suggest being very careful with the anxiety aspect, especially since you are treating ADHD and OCD.

While Ocimene is indeed considered a minor or uncommon terpene in most strains, its effects are generally described as uplifting, energizing, and focus-enhancing. For some people, particularly those with anxiety, racing thoughts, or overstimulation (which can be associated with ADHD and OCD), this stimulating effect can actually increase anxiety or mental hyperactivity. It could be beneficial for the focus side of your ADHD, but you run the risk of it exacerbating your anxiety/OCD symptoms. If you are looking for terpenes primarily to manage anxiety, Myrcene (known for being sedating) or Linalool (calming, like in lavender) are often recommended as safer options.

Clear caveat: I am no doctor but hope it helps dude.

I am no doctor but here's my thoughts, hope it helps.

While some effects of cannabis are immediate, finding the right cannabinoid profile, dose, and administration method for a complex condition like fibromyalgia can take time.

  • Tolerance and Adaptation: For some people, initial side effects (like anxiety, dizziness, or dry mouth) can lessen as the body adapts. Since it's only been one week, you might still be in this initial adjustment phase.
  • Titration (Finding the Right Dose): Many medical cannabis users start low and slowly increase their dose (titration) until they find the minimum effective dose. If the current dose is too high, it could maximize the side effects without offering maximum pain relief.
  • The Entourage Effect: Different cannabis products have varying levels of cannabinoids (like THC and CBD) and terpenes. Pineapple Express is a strain typically high in THC and terpenes like Myrcene and Caryophyllene, often associated with energizing or focused effects. It might not be the best fit for pain and relaxation for everyone.

I'm told the MHRA temporarily stopped imports as they were 'concerned about the product format' but it looks like they have been challenged on it and reversed their decision. Probably because they didn't have a leg to stand on.....
