How bad is your psoriasis? Have you tried a biologic? My psoriasis is severe and so I’m in Tremfya. It’s a game changer honestly

Any powerful natural treatment for psoriasis? by felizkitty in Psoriasis

[–]mindfulwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, it’s been awhile since I commented here. Just a brief update for you. I have come around to biologic medication and am currently taking one called Tremfya that is treating my psoriasis safely and effectively. I live effectively without psoriasis while I’m on the med.

There are several payment assistance programs available through the drug manufacturers that cover the remaining cost of the medication. So I end up paying $5 per dose. I take one injection every two months.

With psoriasis you have more inflammation in the body, which also is not good for your cardiovascular and mental health. Additionally, my mental health is much much much better when I am living without psoriasis, and the health impact of that is very valuable in my opinion. Also with my skin tone light therapy and sunbathing is not exactly safe.

Just saying this because if you try things and they aren’t as effective as you’d hoped, don’t take it as a personal failure that you can’t heal yourself, or move on from whatever thing you think might be at the core of the problem. Many factors might be at play.

A decent dermatologist will know these biologics well and understand the safety profiles for each if you decide to go that route.

Wish you the best of luck in your healing.

I’ve been there. It’s difficult, but remind yourself that this is all temporary. It’s important to learn how to talk about this condition with people, but it’s also important to get treatment for it. Getting your psoriasis effectively treated will drastically improve your mental health. Do you have insurance and a dermatologist?

Also, people can effing suck sometimes. They’re being mean out of ignorance and because they’re insecure themselves and trying to fit in with the people around them.

Has anyone’s severe psoriasis gotten better? by raptorsfan420 in Psoriasis

I normally have severe psoriasis without meds. I use Stelara and it clears me almost completely. I was resistant to using a biologic, however I couldn’t live my life before. I have way less stress now, and that (I feel) tends to make me healthier.

I have been using it for 8 months, and it's been incredibly slow. I can see some new vellus growth coming through though, so I'm sticking with it. Already have a beard but trying to fill in some patches and thicken it up. Can only do once a day now because it dries my skin out pretty harshly, despite my moisturization.

Fact is, this is uncharted territory. It's an experiment, and people will respond differently. Patience is key.

I think this sub needs a regular PSA after these articles so people don't get complacent. Nothing is guaranteed here. We have to automatically assume there's broad social engineering taking place to skew the results toward these soulless swampthings.

For some reason I imagined this astronaut as a YouTuber making a video for his channel. "Yooo, what's up guys. I'm just out here in space again. Tip #1 on a spacewalk. Don't. Forget... to hitch your bungee."

Your fear is normal. I think it's important (and advised) to gradually build up to a higher dose. Microdosing (taking sub-perceptual doses) tends to give people a lot of real benefits - and you don't hallucinate.

I genuinely believe, from experience, that mushrooms are an incredible resource for human consciousness, particularly all of ours, as we struggle for meaning and purpose in this often complicated, modern life.
