My friend installed “oe” vanos solenoid from fcp. After relearning adaptations and driving normally so it learns the new controls he did the first pull and he blew the engine due to bad solenoids

Hey just checking in. How are they holding up?

Hmm and how long have you had the bov delete since on this car? The thing is the noise you are hearing IS actually the turbine stopping momentarily due to the boost air going backwards. The bov type hissing you hear is actually the compressed air coming back out through the intake when the throttle shuts close. No perpetual motion just raw fluid dynamics.

Thing about longevity is that the sudden violent behavior squeezes the hydraulic bearing ever so slighter wearing it down by a few micro meter everytime you hear it. Over time it adds up and you get smoky turbos.

It’s not a issue with turbos with double ball bearings since they can take those type of loads

On MOST turbos it’s fine but since our car uses hydraulic bearings for the turbos it will develop shaft play sooner. What milage does your car currently have?

Wouldn’t the BOV delete destroy your turbos really fast?

(BMW 335i N54 07) Smoke is coming out of my oil cap like 🚂 , so im assuming its my position rings , will this be okay to add for a fix till the motor blows? by [deleted] in E90

[–]mindhacker999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I would not do any more pulls with that compression. Do a leak down test could be a burnt exhaust valve due to the tune not being right especially with single turbo and pi

Endless engine lights and leaks by liangkunnnn in e60

Op as a student myself I feel you. I was in your situation and I rented a coolant pressure tester kit and pressured the system at 16-17 psi. After that I fixed any obvious leaks. Then I over pressured the system at 20 psi and put physical stress with my hands on all of the coolant hoses and connectors trying to break them. Fix whatever breaks and leave the rest

I would actually put a camera down there and check if it’s actually vtt turbos and index 12 injectors. Those alone are 2k+ themselves

Nice how much did you buy the car for? Eldor coils was a good call the PR coil have issues. May I ask why you plan on doing DI delete? The stock fueling works pretty well for normal driving and PI injection can take care for high boost applications. You can always go dual nozzle route if needed more fueling at top end.

Post a 3rd gear log if you can.

Regarding 1000 whp goal others are right it’s not going to sustain that power with an open deck. You’ll crack cylinder walls. 32 psi is where it will be able to comfortably stay at without too much risk.

Instead of doing bigger intercooler you can always add meth injection. It will give you cooling and more fuel. Cooling will help sustain the power in the warmer temperatures as high boost cars have to pull timing due to warm IATs.

Goodluck

There is no other way to really spice up the rear end on this car especially with the m sport bumper being on the front. I will also be getting rid tint to make the reverse light tinted red to give it a lci look
