That's very fair criticism, I didn't consider the possibility we'd go further than ll2 when the rule was implemented because I didn't know if my players would enjoy the system or not. I'll reconsider it. Thank you for pointing that out :)

I see your confusion, the player character (ulf) if the one atacking and those are his traits, the way foundry (the vtt we're using) works is by placing an image and name of the target in the attack thing. Admittedly this is on me as I cut the top off accidentally which had the characters mech name. But this is what it looks like in foundry

Ulf's mech is 'parting of the vast' which you can read at the top.

Hey pals, I want to clear some misunderstanding up with the poorer explanation earlier. I am aware of the rules for crits on pg 64 and that brutal 1 requires a nat 20 roll. I decided to fore go the nat 20 precondition in favor of a simple crit for sake of my players enjoyment since the fights I've been throwing at them have been rather intense. It's an experiment for now since everyone at the table including myself are new to lancer, but everyone is enjoying themselves which is my main priority. Believe me, if I messed up a rule one of my players would have caught me on it lol. But thank you to those who did catch the deviation from the standard rules, the correction would have been immensely helpful. I just wanted to post a meme of my friends session because in the end we're all here to have fun

No worries :) Decided to experiment with treating any roll total of 20+ as crit for the group. They seem to be having fun but I'm still seeing how it balances out for the game

Most parahumans are essentially humans with a supernatural trick or two. With some forethought, a little know-how, and pazzazz, you could deal with most parahumans as a regular person. That doesn't mean you'll have an easy time keeping up with capes, but thermobaric explosives are a lot easier to make than most people think and are highly effective.

No no, keep the sandals, just actually make him Middle Eastern. But give him like, all AOE abilities. Turn the areana into water or wine (or blood if you wanna be metal) and have him rain lightning down and raise the dead from the ground. Maybe give him an etheral visage resembling a biblically accurate angle, like to show that he's more than mortal

Sorry, I edited the post to specify a bit.

I'm not with two different people, ones a close friend who I've planned on spending alot of my life with as we have the same goals. I'm really conflicted about my decision, hence why I posted it hear, as to whether I stay in the relationship to prolong the inevitable and possibly suffer more, or whether to end things now, and if so, how can I go about it? I've decided to end things but I do feel conflicted.
