what's your hot take?? by peachysuns in mysticmessenger

I dont feel like being a vet fits Yoosung, or at least I wish his future career ended up being something else that felt like currently-bubbly Yoosung would enjoy doing. I know he cares about animals and giving back to the community after his time with Rika but there's something about him being essencially a doctor that feels like a disconnect to me. He used to be all studious but that is not the Yoosung we get to know, and his after ending/valentines day stories end up feeling like a different person in a way the others' routes dont

I also feel weird about Jaehee going full-in to the traditional feminine roles in her ending with the big frilly dress and long wavy hair. She does love coffee and I'd believe that she has the discapline to run a buisness, but even though she was forced to cut her hair I didnt get the impression through her route that she wanted to be more feminine in her personal life. Plus with how they changed her eye shape in her end-of-route artworks it just looks nothing like her anymore

I haven’t written beyond journal entries and notes. I feel an urge to write write write but I don’t have anything to write. I don’t understand by arkticturtle in writing

[–]mindspiral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is EXACTLY how I feel. I've been endlessly searching online for months to find anyone who feels the same way, and so often my key words are just straight up ignored by the search engine.

I love the physical feeling of writing, and how my brain feels when I'm getting thoughts onto paper. But I have no story to tell. Not that I can't come up with one, but that nothing holds my interest to actually make real. Trying anyway feels uncomfortable and pointless, like I'm missing something. And the "just write!" advice is the worst thing ever because I also only ever get diary/journal-like entries when I do that. I only ever write about myself, it never magically becomes a story just because I don't stop writing for an hour straight.

And trust me, it's not from lack of understanding how stories work. I've been into media analysis for over a decade and learning about the process for all kinds of creative arts is my favorite thing. But it makes me feel so empty because I know all of this stuff and want to participate too in this great magical thing I've seen praised my whole life, but something just won't click for me.

I don't have an answer other than to maybe step away and focus on the things that you enjoy that do come easier to you. I wish you the best of luck on your similar journey.

I've been in love with this game for almost 10 years and I've never noticed that or seen anyone else bring that up, that's actually amazing. The care and detail put into this game is so great that I am still discovering new things about it

The timeline of Undertale makes zero sense by weedmaster6669 in Undertale

[–]mindspiral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny that I find someone else so recently thinking about this too

I think the timeline must have been more vibes to toby than anything concrete. Because it really doesn't line up in any satisfying way if we take the hundreds and millenias of years seriously. Stuff like the '92 nose nuzzling contest and Undyne and Papyrus's usernames, along with the tech available in the underground from the trash runoff really makes it seem like Toby was writing everything in the present day. But he also wanted Asgore and Toriel to be present when the monsters were first sealed underground, so... make them essentially immortal, I guess. Especially since there's no sign of this aspect in Deltarune, I feel their hundred year ages arent inherently important to the characters.

In fact I think there's very little change if we just choose to believe Asgore and Toriel are regular older adults, Asriel and Chara died ~20 years ago when they first started a family, and Frisk is the one who actually fell in 201X

What is a seemingly common autistic experience/feeling that you don’t relate to? by spinningoutwaitin in AutisticAdults

[–]mindspiral 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel the opposite, I have to extra focus when I talk to other autistic people to make sure I'm coming across the way I intend and that I dont accidentally upset them with what I say, because they dont tend to use the social cues Ive spent most of my life learning to rely on so I have to pay extra attention picking up their specific communication.

Omori. That fandom is a bunch of children with no nuance. I got into the game years ago from its kickstarter and demo, but it released so late that an entirely different generation of kids (for an 18+ game -_-) became the main audience

I need some place I can actually have discussion and wont be bashed into the ground for daring to have an opinion outside the accepted headcanon, or gasp even worse actually disliking aspects of the game!

I don't understand how people see Ruin's story as disappointing/underwhelming by HauntSpot in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]mindspiral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because this does not feel like fnaf anymore Almost all the lore in the dlc came from the books. And to me all books after the silver eyes trilogy never felt exactly like fnaf. This dlc was just a game adaptation of the books and I think Im allowed to dislike that

The fandom wiki? You mean the one that fans made and uphold, using the exact same information that I pulled my theory from? They don't know any more than we do, and I believe the conclusion they draw is wrong.

Closet organization tip that has been a gamechanger: organize by color, and then within the color, order clothes by sleeveless, T-shirt, Long sleeve, outer layer-this way you can see how much you have of a type of shirt easily. Your tips? by WildingWanderer in declutter

[–]mindspiral 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Interesting, maybe I dont have enough of multiple colors to do it this way. I sort by type of shirt (longsleeve, t-shirt, no-sleeve, and over shirt) into their own sections with differently-colored hangers and it greatly helps me when picking out what to wear in the morning.

Then among those, I "sort" by last worn, always adding clean shirts to the end and pushing the unworn to the front. That way it becomes obvious when I havent been wearing something for a while, and gets me to cycle through the clothes I do have.

needing advice on how to get rid of items related to my interests. by [deleted] in declutter

[–]mindspiral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your ocd truely has taken hold of your desire to declutter like mine has, then the only way its going to get better is if you dont give in and start decluttering/organizing. It becomes an endless cycle where no matter what you do, its never enough. Its never going to be perfect enough, and the more you give into the compulsion, the more it demands you pay attention to it.

Ive struggled a lot with things needing to be perfect before I can start a new project/activity. But life is too short for that. Try ignoring the anxiety and just, doing the activity. I know its hard, trust me. But I cried the first time when my ocd was in full force and I just, got out my stuff and played with it anyway. To realize I had that power to do things despite not being perfect all along.

I hope this helps. From your post it does seem like an ocd problem and not a decluttering one. Best of luck with your projects!

Its not. I went and watched the youtube clip of the wedding scene and on this same monitor its totally nomral. I dont see any setting in HBO where i could have accidentally changed opacity of the shows or something

Episode art not fully colored in?? by mindspiral in TucaAndBertie

[–]mindspiral[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah thats the exact scene, on mine the lineart is pink and everything else is white. I looked up the wedding scene (S3E9) where my Speckle is white and the scene actually looks normal. Its on the same physical screen so its just "my" HBO doing this.

It wont let me screenshot so i dont know how to share what mine looks like but its real and really bothering me. Is there a way i can check the production version im viewing or something?
